Tru slipped her glasses higher on her nose, fingers flying over the keyboard and earphones in her ears as she finished off homework and messed around on the internet at the same time.
She clicked into her emails and thought that she might as well update her Dad on how she was doing, even though there wasn't a whole lot to update him on. But still, he was her father and any news would be interesting, she supposed.
Hey Dad,
Just dropping a line to say hello! Still alive! The combined bad cooking of Liam and myself hasn't yet killed either of us (although just barely, may I add). Apparently I did not get cooking skills from you or Mom, so we're making the best of a bad situation, haha.
School is good. I mean, I'm only 4 days in, but it seems good so far. As in, I seem to be on top of my workload, but if I wasn't after 4 days, I'd say I was in the wrong course, haha. It's a pretty busy schedule, but I admit, I did think it was going to be more full on than it was, though it is only my first year, so they probably swamp us later on :)
I'm even thinking of taking an elective music class while I'm here. I'm looking into starting it next semester, but if that proves to end up being too much (or clashing with my current classes), I might just take outside lessons from a tutor or something. I don't know if I really need to graduate with a degree in music when I only really want to learn for fun. I'm not really looking for it to be a career. One famous musician in the family is probably enough, right? Also, it would be a waste of like 8 years to go through studying medicine to just ignore it and do music, haha.
Sorry I didn't make it over your way for Christmas or New Years. I spent Christmas with Mom and New Years with my friends in LA. I was intending to head over your way, but a whole bunch of things got planned in LA at the last moment, so I left Mom on Boxing Day and head back to La-La Land. But hopefully I can come out and see you soon. Or you can come see me! Palo Alto is nice. Hint hint!
Anyway, I better go, another cooking disaster awaits!
