Faith relaxed into Sam's arms, eyes closed in contentment as they lay together under the covers, fingers entwined together.
"I like when we abandon Dean and get our own room," she hummed.
Sam
"I'd have to agree wholeheartedly," Sam smiled, massaging her hand with his thumb.
Faith
Faith turned to kiss him softly, before smiling contentedly.
"Mmm, I love you," she said absently.
Sam
Sam hesitated, caught off guard suddenly.
"You what?" he whispered.
Faith
Faith opened her eyes in almost panic.
"I love this?" she tried, somewhat lamely.
Sam
Sam smiled down at her, now positive that he heard right.
"I love you too."
Faith
Faith's body relaxed again and she gently ran her fingers across Sam's hand.
"Well, that's always nice to hear back."
Sam
Sam breathed evenly, closing his eyes with a contented smile.
"It's nice to hear, period."
Faith
Faith turned her face up to his and kissed him lightly.
"You weren't waiting for it, were you?"
Sam
"Not noteably," Sam assured.
"Why, were you?"
Faith
Faith shook her head.
"Not really. I didn't think we were up to love, actually. I kind of surprised myself just then."
Sam
"Yeah..." Sam sighed, "I wasn't sure if you were either."
Faith
Faith glanced up at him and smiled faintly.
"I think I know what it's meant to feel like now," she said, then paused. "Sorry, the love thing. It's... kinda new."
Sam
"Are you sure about that?" Sam asked curiously.
Faith
Faith was quiet for a moment, thinking.
"Yeah. Very."
Sam
Sam nodded to himself.
"Cool."
Faith
"Yeah, feel proud, buddy," Faith teased, smiling up at him.
"You've achieved what no guy has."
Sam
"Oh I do," Sam nodded with a grin.
"I definitely do feel proud. But not so much for myself."
Faith
"You're proud of me?" Faith asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
She rubbed her nose absently.
Sam
"Yeah," Sam smiled.
"I mean, I've said it before and meant it. It's not easy. So for a first timer? You weren't half bad," he teased.
Faith
Faith rolled over, half onto Sam.
"What, aside from the brief panic attack I was suffering when I said it?"
Sam
"Yeah, been there done that," Sam mused.
Faith
Faith moved so she was laying on top of Sam.
"You're a good pillow."
Sam
"So I've been told," Sam's eyebrows rose.
"It would be great if I could find a good one myself."
Faith
Faith laughed and kissed his chest.
"Well, maybe you shouldn't be so tall."
She looked up at him.
"So, you seemed to be a big hit with Tru and Lia."
Sam
"And I'm glad," Sam nodded.
"I seem to be fitting into your world pretty well, huh?"
Faith
"Guess so," Faith mused. "I mean, the three most important ones like you."
She paused.
"And you've had the awkward encounter with the ex husband."
Sam
"Which probably wouldn't have been as awkward had Dean not been giggling in the corner," Sam reasoned.
Faith
"True," Faith agreed.
She grinned.
"But Zac loves me," she joked.
Sam
"I think a lot of people do," Sam said seriously.
Faith
Faith shook her head.
"You. Tru. Lia. Short list, buddy."
Sam
"Angel," Sam added.
"Love doesn't just extend to those with the same blood type."
Faith
"Yeah, I guess so. I mean, he'd really have to love me to have kept me around for so often."
Faith shrugged.
Sam
"And he's not the only one," Sam assured.
Faith
Faith traced the outline of Sam's jaw with her fingertip, quietly reflective for a moment.
"Guess not."
