"Happy birthday," Friday greeted, sitting down at the table.
"Day!" Julie exclaimed. "Hey thanks."
"No problem. Sorry I'm a bit late. Traffic."
"That's okay."
"Pressie!" Friday smiled, handing over a box.
"Aww, thankies!"
Friday grinned while Julie ripped open the wrapping paper to reveal a shirt. Julie unfolded it and laughed.
"Of course I'm out of my mind. It's dark and scary in there," she read.
Friday nodded enthusiastically.
"Nerd."
"Doofus."
"Thanks."
"Glad you like it."
"It's awesome."
"So, how do you like Australia so far?"
"It's good," Julie replied. "But... I... I don't know."
"What?"
Julie considered.
"I guess I'm not having as much fun as I thought I would, y'know?"
"It's probably the lack of people," Friday nodded. "Holidays are always more fun when you have people to share them with. How long are you here for?"
"A couple of weeks."
"Okay, great. You can hang out with me! And Eron. This is his first time in Australia too, so we're looking at the sights anyway."
"I wouldn't want to intrude..."
"Ha, you won't be intruding in the slightest. Besides, I already ran the idea past Eron and he's cool with it. We're had nothing but each others' company for months, and after you leave it'll go back to being the same. It's cool. Really."
"Okay, great. I'd love that."
"Awesome. It's been ages since we last hung out."
"It has. We should do this more often."
"I wonder if we'll be sick of each others' company by the time you go back?"
"Ha! Never."
The girls chuckled.
