Mothers

Isaac and Nikki

"By the way," Nikki said to Isaac over the phone. "Have I ever mentioned how much I love your mom?"

Isaac chuckled.

"I think just about everytime we've spoken about the wedding."

"It's possible. But I really love your mom. Seriously. Everytime I was starting to feel stressed and overwhelmed she just knew the exact right thing to say or do to take care of it."

"She probably projected calming emotions on you."

"Yeah, well, I'd rather that than running around tearing my hair out."

"I think I prefer you with hair too."

Nikki giggled.

"And don't forget that as far as the human element is concerned you're flying down especially for the wedding, not teleporting."

"I know. Are many of your friends from Florida coming?"

"More than I expected, actually. There's still going to be less than 150 guests though."

"Well, I'm glad that some of them could make it, especially on such short notice."

"Yeah. Actually," Nikki went on with a hint of mischief in her voice. "I'm really, really glad that we decided not to wait before marrying. Or remarrying. Whichever."

"I'm glad too."

"Yes, but I'm especially glad."

"Oh?"

"Yeah, if we'd put it off until you guys came back from tour my gown wouldn't fit."

"It wouldn't?"

"Nope."

"Umm... okay... why's that?"

Nikki giggled.

"I'm pregnant."
