"Did you know?" were Faith's first words as she slid into the booth across from Xander.
Xander looked up, almost nervously. "Know what?"
"About the prophecy," Faith replied.
"I heard about it this morning, yes," Xander admitted.
"Figures." Faith leaned back in the chair, then glanced around the empty diner. "Why'd you want to meet here? Aren't we training tonight?"
"This isn't normal training," Xander told her. "We're working on vibratory stones tonight. I don't think I need to train you on hand to hand much these days, and we don't have enough time for a full scale work out."
And on that note, the Watcher reached into his bag and pulled out the crystals that would be needed.
"Really?" Faith raised an eyebrow. "Like... really?"
"Really," Xander confirmed. "Now, are you ready?"
He placed the first stone in the middle of the table.
"Ah... amethyst," she said, shrugging.
"Used for?" he questioned.
"Breath mints?" she replied sarcastically.
"Charm bags, money spells, and for cleansing one's aura," Xander corrected.
"Okay, so how do you know if one's aura's dirty? Somebody come by with a finger and write 'wash me' on it?" Faith joked.
"Look, I know this seems hokey, but it is part of your training, so..."
"Ok, ok."
"Now," Xander pushed the large blue stone into the centre of the table. "Can you see the flaw in the crystal?"
Faith nodded.
"Good, good. Focus on the flaw, concentrate..."
Faith's eyes seemed to glaze over as she concentrated on the flaw, and Xander carefully pulled the syringe from his bag. He rolled up her sleeve and carefully injected her, before rolling her sleeve down again and waving his hand in front of the crystal, breaking her concentration.
"Sorry, did I zone out?" Faith asked, rubbing her arm absently.
"It's ok," he said. "You look beat, why don't we call it a night, and we can continue tomorrow morning?"
"Yeah... ok. I'll do a quick sweep before... night Xander."
