Surprise Guests

Written by Nessa and AiMsTeR

Faith

Faith lay back on the bed, boots and pants discarded on the floor, one empty tequila bottle right next to them, and another almost new tequila bottle in her hand.

The TV was on softly, and she rested her head against the pillows, propped up against the headboard in her underwear and a tank top. She flipped through the channels, giggling when something would catch her eye.

Tulsa, now she remembered why she had left. So boring.

Dean & Sam

"Thanks," Dean nodded to the motel clerk, before walking back to his brother.

He pointed across the park.

"Room 14, and she's in," he informed him.

Sam nodded, still unsure of what they were doing. Dean however sauntered straight over to the door and knocked.

Faith

Faith slid off the bed, leaving the tequila bottle on the bedside table, before going over to the door, not thinking to put some pants on.

She looked through the peephole, then gave up, focusing becoming too difficult.

"Taking the night off for drinking, so if you want to kill me, you'll have to come back."

She unlatched the chain and opened the door.

"Oh."

Dean & Sam

"Faith?" the boys said in unison.

"Are you ok?" Sam added.

Faith

"Hey, that was cute," Faith said, opening the door completely for them, before reaching up to give Dean a hug first, then Sam.

"Wow, it's so good to see you both. Really."

Dean & Sam

"You're drunk," Dean said decidedly, closing the door behind them and going to find her alcohol.

"Faith, what happened?" Sam asked, not wanting to let her go in case she fell.

Faith

Faith screwed her face up in thought, half resting against Sam's chest, half unable to really stand up on her own.

"Before or after the awkward talk with my ex husband?"

Sam

"Both and during," Sam insisted, inching her over to the bed and getting her to sit down with him.

Faith

"Thanks Sam...mich."

Faith laughed slightly, then lay back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling.

"I don't know, it was weird. And awkward. And weird. First, there was the weird email. Who knew that he was going to notice when I left him? I don't know. I was a bad partner. I get that. Still am a little, I think."

Sam & Dean

"You learnt your lesson," Sam said insistantly, looking down on her.

Dean finished pouring some alcohol down the kitchen sink, slipping at least two bottles into his coat pockets before taking his leave to let the two be alone.

Faith

Faith shrugged slightly, glancing at him.

"Yeah... maybe."

She was silent for a moment.

"I don't know, I guess..." She stopped to rub her nose. "I guess I figured because I wasn't in love with him, that he wasn't in love with me, as stupid as that is."

Sam

"...Oh," Sam finally got it.

"So you only just realised you broke the guy's heart?"

Faith

Faith nodded. "I didn't think I was actually capable of that, like... the whole someone being in love with me thing, I don't know. I knew he liked me, and I knew he thought I was hot, but, love? Different ball park. Game. Thing. Whatever."

She rolled onto her stomach, resting her chin on her arms.

"He said he didn't think he would ever get over me. Isn't that ridiculous? I feel like I'm talking a lot."

Sam

"Ah... no, I don't really think it's ridiculous," Sam smirked, scratching his nose embarrassingly.

"Because I kinda feel the same way. And we're not even married or anything."

Faith

"Oh."

Faith looked down at the bed.

"I'm not... why? I'm just... yeah. I mean I get that I'm easy on the eyes, but... I'm not really... like... I don't know. Anyway."

Sam

"Faith, if I was interested purely in what I see, I wouldn't have hung around as long as I have," Sam said insistantly.

"It's what's up here," he tapped her head, "and in here," he put his palm to her heart, "that counts."

Faith

Faith was silent for a long moment, looking away from Sam.

"This is making me nervous."

Sam

"Sorry," Sam immediately apologised, moving back to his side of the bed to give her space.

Faith

"No, it's... it's me. I'm just no good at this talking about feelings thing."

Faith glanced at him.

"Sorry, I'm not more... you know, bright and shiny for you."

Sam

"That's perfectly ok," Sam assured.

"It's not fair to expect it if you won't receive it, you know."

Faith

"Yeah."

Faith turned and looked at him.

"I don't know. I'm filled with alcohol."

Sam

"At least it's only one of us," Sam nodded, "because I have a feeling that if Dean hadn't stolen it I'd be into the drink myself."

Faith

Faith sat up and pouted slightly.

"I was kinda hoping to not be able to see straight."

She glanced at Sam again.

"Wait, how did you find me?"

Sam

"It wasn't hard, Connie Francis," Sam smirked.

Faith

Faith laughed.

"Shut up, my Mom loved her."

Sam

"You've definitely been too influenced by Dean I'm afraid," Sam rolled his eyes.

Faith

Faith shook her head.

"No way. I am uninfluence-able. Or something."
