Paddle Pool

Written by Nessa and AiMsTeR

Faith

Faith's pants sat low on her hips as she wandered into the hotel room.

"Staying in a reasonably priced hotel? Best idea ever. Aside from Disneyland."

She sat down next to Sam.

"They have a gym. And a spa. And a sauna. And a pool."

Sam

"A pool?" Sam's eyebrows rose, not looking up from his computer.

"Awesome. We should check it out later."

Faith

"Yep."

Faith stretched her arms out.

"I actually got to use weights. Weights, Sam."

Sam

"I think I'd probably pull a few muscles if I even did weights," Sam chuckled.

"I haven't even been to a gym since college. And that wa sonly because people were worried about me being thin."

Faith

Faith grinned.

"I once... broke someone's face with weights in jail. But, to be fair, she was trying to stab me. Long story."

Sam

Sam waved it off, still only half concentrating.

"She deserved it then. I know you wouldn't have attacked anyone in there if they didn't deserve it."

Faith

"Well, you know me, all about the good deeds."

Faith moved over to the bed, looking at the book on the bedside table.

"Mmm, room service, hey?"

Sam

"Sure," Sam shrugged.

"Unless you wanna go out again."

Faith

"Well, we could eat in here, naked. Or we could go out."

Faith grinned slightly.

"It's up to you, if you have a lot of stuff to do, we can stay in."

Sam

"No, no," Sam quickly finished up what he was doing.

"Just boring research stuff. Want to grab something from the bar and check out the pool?"

Faith

"Yes, yes I do."

Faith rolled off the bed, heading in the direction of her bag.

Sam

"I'll buy," Sam offered, holding up a card while he tried to find his wallet.

Faith

"Dinner is always so much nicer when you pay."

Faith ran a hand through her hair, messing her curls up a little bit as she located her phone.

Sam

Sam found his wallet and his phone, then made his way to the door.

"So whereabouts is it?" he asked as he turned the lights off and made sure he had the room key.

Faith

"This way."

Faith walked alongside him down the corridor.

Sam

"Is it big? Did you see it?" Sam asked.

"Like is it worth going for a swim tonight or something?"

Faith

"Yeah, it's fairly decent sized for laps. Oh, and there's a kid's paddle pool with a fountain."

Faith grinned slightly.

"And those mushroom things that spray water."

Sam

"Oooh, fun," Sam grinned playfully, pulling his jacket on as he walked.

"And hey, you should always start small."

Faith

"Exactly."

Faith nodded, and tied her hair up.

Sam

Sam cleared his throat and slid his hands in his pockets as he walked.

"Do you think we're getting... boring?" he asked suddenly.

Faith

"I think we're sorta getting normal. And yeah, that can get boring."

Faith shrugged.

"I mean, all we have to do is like... search out something to slay. Hunt. You know."

Sam

"Yeah, but even that's getting kinda stale," Sam shrugged, pulling out his cell phone as he got a message.

He glanced it over and put it back in his pocket.

"I mean it's just kinda the same deal town after town, you know? And it's not as if we could actually settle down anywhere with the FBI on our asses."

Faith

"Well, if you wanted to check out somewhere overseas for awhile, Angel can hook us up with the private jet."

Faith frowned slightly.

"I can't believe a vampire is more of a law abiding citizen than me."

Sam

"Yeah, it's odd," Sam scratched his head again, feeling very awkward.

"Angel himself is kinda odd. But I guess you'd have to be, being how old he is."

Faith

"Yeah, I think..."

Faith paused for a second, thinking of how to word her statement.

"I think I accept so much about him because I've seen so much of what he's done, and I've crossed that line enough myself, you know, being that horribly psychotic bitch and all."

Sam

"Everyone has a little evil inside of them," Sam shrugged.

"The ability to choose is what makes us human. Or in our case, mostly human anyhow."

Faith

"Hey," Faith said, grinning slightly.

"I am all human, baby. Just an awesome one."

Sam

"Sure. Keep telling yourself that," Sam teased with a smirk.

"Little Miss Chosen One."

Faith

"Yep," Faith said, grinning at him.

"That's me. All special."

She goosed him as they walked down the stairs.

Sam

Sam slapped his hand to his ass where she'd gotten him, turning to chuckle at her.

"So am I gonna fit in this pool? Is it big enough?"

Faith

Faith pretended to think for a moment.

"Well, I don't know. You are very... tall."

Sam

"What if I lay down?" Sam raised an eyebrow, stepping down in front of her a bit quicker so he was at her eye level.

Faith

"Well," Faith considered, pausing for a second. She grinned to herself then jumped up on his back.

"I suppose that would work. Only, then I'd feel like I had to lay on top of you. You know. For warmth."

Sam

"Better check if it's heated then!" Sam grinned, taking a small run up before dumping her backwards into the large motel pool.

He backed off straight away so she couldn't reach back and pull him in with her.

Faith

Faith surfaced, mock hurt on her face.

"Oooh, that's it."

She hoisted herself out of the pool and made a face before stripping down to her underwear and taking off after him.

Thankfully, they were alone.

Sam

"No you don't!" Sam laughed, running around the pool and ducking behind some large plant holders.

"My legs are twice as long, you won't catch me!"

Faith

Faith grinned, jumping over a sun chair as she got closer to him.

"But I'm a superhero. And can move at the speed of light, or something."

Sam

"In that case..."

Sam put his hand up and held her back using his telekinesis.

"Does that make me another superhero or a supervillain?" he poked his tongue out at her.

"Because I'm only using powers of evil for good!"

Faith

Faith thought for a second.

"At this moment, I'm saying villain. Only because I am dripping wet and in my underwear and you are yet to have a drop on you."

Sam

"I know, life just isn't fair," Sam sighed with a huff.

Faith

Faith pouted at him, letting her bottom lip quiver slightly.

Sam

"Oh for the love of-"

Sam let her go, putting his hands on his hips indignanty.

Faith

"Awww, such a softy!"

Faith closed the distance between them before jumping on him, wrapping her legs around his waist.

"Will have to do something to harden you up," she winked.

Sam

"Faith, you're making me wet!" Sam pouted drastically.

"Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?"

Faith

Faith almost let go of him from laughing too much.

"But you already did make me wet."

Sam

"I guess I did, didn't I?" Sam grinned, leaning in to kiss her.

Faith

"You'll pay for that later," Faith replied, leaning in to receive the kiss.

Sam

"Oh yeah?" Sam's eyebrows rose.

He waited until he had eye contact, held her tight, and fell backwards into the pool himself.

Faith

Faith relaxed her grip around his neck as they resurfaced, letting herself float in front of him.

"You just like seeing me wet," she accused jokingly.

Sam

"Guilty," Sam admitted, leaning in to kiss again.
