Bobby looked at the piece of paper in his hand, then up at the house. He put the car into park and turned off the ignition before sighing heavily and getting out of the car.
He was excited to see his daughters again, but he wasn't sure of what Julie's reaction to him would be. Or Zac's, for that matter.
Also, he was feeling very self conscious with one hand being bright blue.
Curse Hank and his experiments.
He locked the car behind him, then went up to the house, presents in both hands, adjusting them slightly so he could ring the bell.
Zac
Zac heard the bell and with a sigh got up. Just when he finally sat down.
"Hey Bobby," he said, opening the door. "Come on in."
Something caught his eye and they flickered down, noting Bobby's blue hand. Ooook.
Bobby
Bobby saw where Zac was looking and grinned slightly.
"My best friend is a scientist, what can I say?" he said.
Zac
"Ahh," Zac nodded. "Cindy and Dax are in the nursary."
He held off mentioning that Julie was in her room nursing her latest hangover and lead the way.
Bobby
Bobby's face broke out in a huge grin as he followed Zac.
"Is it girly to say that I'm really excited?"
Zac
Zac laughed.
"Naw," he replied, opening up the nusary door.
On the floor of the expanded nursary both nannies and ten kids played, including two sandy-brown haired girls in blue dresses playing with the blocks.
"We only have a few kids here," Zac joked.
Bobby
Bobby's face lit up with glee as his eyes fell on his daughters.
"There are my two beautiful girls!" he said, wandering over and sitting down next to them.
Zac
Zac grinned and slipped back out again.
"Daddy!" Cindy and Dax said together, dropping the blocks and reaching out for Bobby.
Bobby
Bobby pulled both of them into his lap, laying kisses on each of their foreheads.
"And how are my beautiful ladies?"
Cindy and Dax
"Good," Cindy replied.
Dax pointed as best as any one-and-a-half year old can at the blocks.
"Castle."
Bobby
"That's awesome, Daxarooney," Bobby said, hugging her lightly. "You're my little builder, aren't you?"
He ruffled Cindy's hair gently.
Cindy and Dax
Dax hugged Bobby as tightly as she could and Cindy giggled when he ruffled her hair.
"Outing?" Cindy asked hopefully.
Bobby
"Of course, but first... presents!"
Bobby chuckled and handed the girls the little boxes. Inside were matching silver lockets with pictures of them both with him. So they could remember him while he was gone.
Cindy and Dax
Cindy and Dax reached for their presents eagerly. Cindy ripped hers open excitedly while Dax opened hers carefully instead. As Cindy struggled a little opening up her box they both saw the lockets at the same time.
"Pitty!" Cindy declared.
"Ve'y pitty!" Dax agreed, already fiddling with it.
Bobby
Bobby chuckled again and opened one of them, showing both girls.
"See, it's us? So you can always have a little piece of me, when I'm not around."
He gently put the necklaces around each of their necks.
Cindy and Dax
" 'Member what Mommy and Daddy told us to say when we get pressie?" Cindy asked Dax telepathically.
"Umm... Thank you?" Dax replied.
"Yes that's it!"
"T'ank oo!" the girls said together.
Bobby
"You're both very welcome."
Bobby gently lifted them off his lap and stood up, then reached for them both again.
"Well, how about we go to the park?"
Julie
"Yay!" the twins cheered.
"Oh... When did you get here?" Julie asked from the doorway, blinking bleak eyes.
Bobby
Bobby looked at the door at the sound of a new voice, and checked his watch.
"Eh, about... half an hour ago?"
Julie
"Oh sorry. I slept in," Julie replied.
"We go on Outing now," Dax told her happily.
"Wif Daddy," Cindy beamed.
"Oh, I see..."
Bobby
"That's ok," Bobby told her. "I suppose you need your beauty sleep. You aren't naturally gorgeous like myself."
He smiled slightly.
"Did you want to come with us? We were going to go to the park. Also, I was planning on getting them extremely sugared up and then dropping them back. Ha."
Julie
Julie frowned.
"No, you go on ahead," she replied absently and wandered out again.
Bobby
"Just us icies then," Bobby said to Dax and Cindy.
He lifted them up, one in each arm as he left the room.
Cindy and Dax
Cindy cheered and giggled as their beloved Daddy carried them off.
This was going to be a great day!
