HUgh stared as he came upon the basketball court. Libby had tackled Josh and was giving him a noogie while the other boys looked on and laughed.
"Oookay..." he said.
"Hey Hugh," Dan greeted.
"Umm, what's going on?"
"The Libster is beating up Joshy-boy, what does it look like?" Matt asked.
"Okay, stupid question. New question: Why?"
"Avery lost the baby and Libby is demonstrating why Josh should go out of his way not to stress her out," Trent informed him.
"Ahh."
"And we're teasing Trent about how he'd liked to be manhandled by Libby," Matt added, smirking.
"I do not," Trent objected.
"Right then... so we're going to actually play today?"
"No, we're going to play. You're going to dance around getting nowhere near the ball," Matt corrected.
Hugh shrugged while Dan and Trent snickered.
"Okay," Libby said, flicking a bubble at Josh. "Have I made myself perfectly clear?"
"I think that the wedgie was highly unneccesary," Josh glowered at her.
"I don't. You need to get it through your thick head that Aves isn't interested and ought to look for another girl who will appreciate your obsessing."
"Josh is just upset 'cause he got beat by a girl," Matt taunted.
"Hey, I could have beatedn Libs. I was just being nice."
"Because I'm a girl?" Libby asked dangerously.
"Yes."
"Okay. Bring it on. Pretend I'm a guy."
"Libs, with your rack no one could make that mistake."
Libby ignored the blush that came across her face. That was a certain fact of life she did not appreciate. It got a little painful playing basketball with all that bouncing.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Libby replied. "So, we going to do this, or are you going to wuss out?"
"I know what he's talking about!" Matt said merrily. "And they're size D."
"Matt? You're an idiot."
"And you're blushing."
"I so am not."
"Are too."
"Are not."
"Are too."
"Children, children," Dan interjected. "Are we going to play or not?"
"I'm going to kick his ponsy ass," Libby declared.
"You just did that."
"Yeah but he reckons he let me."
"That's because he enjoys being beaten my girls," Matt joked. "That kind of thing turns him on."
Libby turned up her nose.
"Eww."
"Yeah, remember that next time you try to -" Josh began then stopped. "Hey! Matt!"
Matt laughed.
"Okay guys," Trent cut in. "Let's play alright?"
There was general agreement and the six got up off their butts and stepped onto the court with the basketball. They split into teams and got in positions for the game to begin.
"Oh, and Libby?" Dan said.
"Yeah?"
"Your chest really is that big. Blushing girl."
Libby threw the basketball at his face.
