Teach Me

Written by Nessa and Michelle

Faith

Faith yawned, rolling over onto her side and stopped. She let her eyes wander over Sam's face, so peaceful in sleep, and she smiled, watching him for a moment.

Sam

"What?" Sam asked after a moment, not bothering to open his eyes.

"I can feel you watching me."

Faith

Faith smiled slightly and leant over to kiss at his neck.

"Nothing, just basking in the pretty."

Sam

"In that case..."

Sam held back a yawn as he stretched his arms and opened his eyes to slits.

"Let me do the same," he smiled.

Faith

Faith smiled and rested her head against his chest.

"So, we've been sorta in hiding for a week..."

Sam

"Is that a bad thing?" Sam asked, moving his head to look down at her.

He started stroking her hair.

Faith

"No," Faith replied, relaxing under his touch.

"But you did tell me you were going to show me the art of hanging out. So... today, I'm your student. Teach me."

Her fingers trailed gently over his stomach.

Sam

"Well..." Sam looked as thoughtful as he could for someone who'd just woken up.

"That's kinda what we've been doing this past week."

Faith

"Yeah, but we've been awfully shady at times."

Faith kissed him on the chest.

"Although, we're shady normally, I guess."

Sam

"Yeah, I don't think we'd venture much further towards normal if we tried," Sam sighed, his fingers still curling through her hair.

"The more often we step outside the more likely we'll find something to hunt."

Faith

"Yeah, and as much as I'd like to ignore it sometimes... sacred duty and all that nonsense."

Faith pressed her lips against his chest again.

"It's weird, hey? Being so into this life and not really having another option."

Sam

"Yeah. Been there, done that, didn't work," Sam shrugged.

"Maybe it really is a higher calling. Or in my case, lower."

Faith

"Well, I don't know why I was Chosen," Faith said, making a face.

"I mean, my main options in life would've been... dying in a ditch somewhere, or prostitution."

Sam

"At least it gave your life meaning then, huh?" Sam squeezed her into a short hug.

"I'm glad you took it. You could have given up plenty of times, but you haven't."

Faith

"Yeah, sorta."

Faith looked up at him and smiled.

"I mean, what else am I going to do with all this strength? Besides... you know... awesome sex with a cute boy."

Sam

Sam smirked a little, moving his hand to run it up and down her arm.

"That's actually something I wanted to talk to you about..." he began cautiously.

Faith

Faith looked up at him, eyes concerned.

"Am I going to like where that conversation is headed?"

Sam

"Probably not," Sam admitted.

"It's something I asked Dean a while back. He couldn't do it, but I kinda think you could."

He chewed his bottom lip thoughtfully.

"There's a perfectly good chance, that because these powers I've got came from an evil source, that I could turn evil. And I need to know that there's gonna be someone there that can... stop me, if that happens."

Faith

Faith was silent for a long moment, thinking over what he had just said and letting her emotions and thoughts battle it out inside of her.

"Well," she began, looking up at him again. "I would try everything I could to save you. Killing you would be... would be a last resort."

She paused again.

Sam

"I know," Sam agreed.

"And Dean said the same thing. But he couldn't carry through on it, and... I'd like to know if you would. You don't need to answer me now though, if it's too hard. I mean Dean was struggling with it for months before he even told me of the possibility..."

Faith

Faith was quiet again, then looked up at him.

"I guess, I mean... it's kind of... what I'm meant to do. But I don't know unless I'm in that situation, you know? I mean, on that same token, if I start killing people, you'd have to stop me..."

She scratched her nose.

"I'm fond of you and all, but yeah. I'd... I don't know. I'd try. That's all I can offer right now."

Sam

"That's ok," Sam smiled, hugging her a little closer.

"After all, I'm sure some of your friends would if you couldn't," he half-joked.

Faith

"I'd like to see them try," Faith said softly. "They'd be in for a world of pain if they did."

She glanced up at him.

"So, are we moving on today? Or hanging around this town for a bit longer?"

Sam

"I don't know, what do you want to do?" Sam raised an eyebrow.

Faith

"I guess maybe move on."

Faith stretched her legs out.

"After a few more minutes of this."

Sam

"Easy done," Sam sighed, closing his eyes calmly.

"Is there anywere you really want to go?"

Faith

"Disneyland?" Faith grinned.

"Never been."

Sam

"You know what? I haven't either," Sam said, bewildered.

"Maybe we will have to make a stop there. See if we can hug the big mouse."

Faith

"Indiana Jones ride," Faith nodded. "Mmm, Harrison."

She grinned slightly.

"So, shall we head in the direction of Disney?"

Sam

"I think we should," Sam nodded decidedly.

"And hey, some of the rides could always be haunted."

Faith

"Always business, never just pleasure," Faith teased, reaching up to kiss him.
