Covered In My Blood

Written by Nessa and AiMsTeR

Faith

Faith tossed her hair over her shoulders, dark eyes scanning the room as they entered the club.

Dark, smokey, loud music and a huge bar. Yep, this was the place to blow off some steam.

She glanced up at Sam.

Sam

"Why don't you go and have some fun," Sam suggested, voice bellowing over the loud music.

"I'll be at the bar."

Faith

"Yeah, I think I've earned that."

Faith reached up to kiss him quickly, before making her way over to the dancefloor.

She danced alone in the middle of the room for a second, before a few guys moved in her direction.

Hips moving seductively in time to the music, she barely paid attention to the people around her.

Sam

Sam made his way through the crowd and to the bar, ordering himself a beer.

He found a nearby stool and struck up conversation with a young blonde while he took a seat and waited for his drink.

Faith

Faith turned around and found herself looking at the faces of three police officers.

"Hey," she greeted. "I was wondering what was taking you boys so long. Where've you been?"

"We're going to have to ask you to come with us, miss," the first one said. "Outstanding warrants."

"Yeah," Faith said, shrugging. "Or we could try this one on instead. How about you guys buy me another drink and we'll see where the evening takes us?"

Two of them grabbed her and she struggled as they dragged her to the front door.

"It's cool, I got it," she said to a bystander, who looked concerned. "Get off me."

She didn't even glance in Sam's direction, lest they find him too.

Sam

Sam almost dropped the beer glass when he saw what was happening. Instead he managed to get it back to the bar, paid his tab, and made his way to a side exit.

He slipped around the side of the building, casing the scene. There were at least two patrol cars, maybe more. Someone was definitely expecting her - or them - to be there.

Faith

They let go of Faith and she turned around and shoved one of them away.

"I'm telling you right now, I'm not going back to jail," she said.

"Who said anything about jail?" one of them smirked.

Faith punched him, then dodged out of the way, kicking another one in the stomach. She spun around, fighting all three and doing a good job until they brought out their night sticks.

Sam

Sam reached behind him to the Taurus in his belt, quietly clicking it off safety and holding it in both hands.

Biding his time and trying to remember how many bullets he had left (the full six? Surely...) he inched closer so he could hear what they were saying.

At the 'who said anything about jail?' line, he stepped out. When they brandished their sticks, he aimed his gun.

"Back off!" he demanded loudly.

Faith

"Like he says," Faith said, spitting a mouthful of blood out onto the pavement.

Two officers turned to face Sam, while one kept an eye on Faith, who was slowly getting to her feet.

"Ah, Sam Winchester."

Sam

"And if I am, you know what I'm down for," Sam pointed out.

"Drop 'em. NOW!"

Faith

The officers looked between each other, then at Faith and Sam.

"Afraid we can't. Outstanding warrants, you see."

Sam

"Don't make me do this," Sam's voice was harsh but his eyes were pleading.

Faith

"I'd do it, if I were you," Faith said to the cops. "Drop 'em."

Reluctantly, the cops put their sticks down.

Sam

"Faith?" Sam called.

He tilted his head to the side, signalling they should take their leave.

Faith

"Yeah, gladly."

Faith rubbed at her neck as she followed Sam.

Sam

Sam kept his eye on the officers as he walked backwards, only taking the gun from aim when he thought they were far enough to get a head start.

Instead, he quickly blew out a tyre each from the patrol cars, then took off at a run towards Faith's car.

"We have to get to the motel and get our stuff and the car," he said, jumping in the passenger side and readying his gun for aim again.

Faith

"Figures, just as I was having fun."

Faith slid into her seat, starting the car and speeding out of the parking lot. She glanced at Sam.

"Thanks."

Sam

"No problem," Sam looked a little put off by the gratitude.

"Let's just hope they're not at the motel too."

Faith

"Yeah, that wouldn't be a fun game."

Faith rounded the corner quickly, then sped up on the straight bit of road.

Sam

As they neared the motel, Sam spotted a single patrol car out front and pointed it out to Faith.

"Park out back," he instructed, "then we'll see if we can get in. They might not even be here for us."

Faith

Faith nodded and changed the course of direction, cutting her lights when she entered the back of the parking lot.

"What are the chances of them not being here for us though?" she pointed out. "I mean, there are two things I don't believe in. Coincidence and leprechauns."

Sam

"You know leprechauns are actually based on..." Sam cut himself off when he remembered where he was.

He cleared his throat.

"Nevermind. It's happened before, but not often. Ok, once. I'll walk around the side and see if they're in the room."

Faith

"Ok. I'll... sit here and bleed internally."

Faith unbuckled her seatbelt and waited until he had left before deciding to cover his back.

Sam

Sam made his way around the side, taking cautious glances at every turn and keeping his ears tuned for voices. Most of the motel occupants had turned in for the night, and there wasn't much traffic on the main road, so it shuld have been easier. But there was nothing.

He took a deep breath and stepped out onto the main walking path, stepping carefully as he made his way closer to the room and his beloved impala.

Faith

Faith sensed movement behind Sam and she quietly moved behind the police officer and hit him hard from behind, knocking him out instantly.

He crumpled to the ground.

Sam

Sam instinctively ducked, turnng to see Faith smiling at him and an unonscious lump on the ground.

After Sam pulled himself together, his eyerows rose.

"I totally knew he was there," he lied, turning back to the room and walking closer.

Faith

"Mmmhmm, I'm sure it was under control."

Faith followed closely behind, ears pricked and eyes peeled for any signs of movement.

Sam

Sam stopped at the open door, taking a quick peek inside. A shadow was moving towards them, so he stepped back a little and waited.

As the cop stepped out Sam hit the crane of his neck, knocking him out as well.

"Two cops, one car. Are we that lucky?" Sam gave Faith a quick glance, before darting inside to collect his laptop and other odds and ends they didn't need found.

Faith

"Maybe," Faith started to say, before feeling the cold metal of a handcuff click around her wrist.

"Guess not," the cop said as she turned, then promptly punched her in the face.

"Oh good," she replied, bringing her wrist up and smashing the metal against the officer's nose. She headbutted him, then snapped a kick into his leg, hitting him once more with her handcuffed hand.

Once he was out cold, and bleeding, she reached into his pocket for the keys, then dragged him into the room.

"Make that three cops."

Sam

"They obviously werent expecting us back anytime soon," Sam said, turning the bathroom light off and grabbing the room key.

He had his duffel and laptop bags slung over one shoulder, and her two small bags on the other.

"Let's hit the road. Find somewhere off the side to sleep it off," he suggested, taking their stuff to the impala and throwing it into the back seat.

Faith

"Yeah," Faith agreed, rubbing her bruised arms.

"I'm liking tha sleep plan."

Sam

"I'll wait for you at the drive-in," Sam nodded to her, dangling the room key.

He got into the impala and drove over to the main building to return it.

Faith

Faith opened her car and slid into the drivers seat, starting the engine and zooming off to meet Sam.
