Corinne sat down beside Cliff. They sat in silence for a time.
"I'm sorry," Corinne said finally, breaking the silence
Cliff shrugged.
"I just... I didn't think you'd be interested in the nitty gritty details."
"It's my wedding too, Rin. And probably one of the most important days of my life."
"I know. I'm sorry for upsetting you."
"It's okay," Cliff shrugged. "And you're right, I'm not really interested in the nitty gritty details. Napkins are napkins no matter what colour they are. But there's always the menu and the music and half a million other things that I would have liked to be consulted on. I mean, do I even get to decide what I'm wearing?"
Corinne smiled faintly.
"I'm sorry," she said again. "Wow, we're pathetic."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. I get upset with you because I didn't like your original proposal, and you've gotten upset with me because I'm running roughshod over all of the wedding plans," Corinne giggled. "Y'know... I know I said I had everything sorted, but not all the decisions are set in stone. We can go over them, if you want?"
"Sure," Cliff replied, his usual cheerfulness returning.
