"All weird and skittish," Faith said, resting her hand against the punching bag.
"Oh really?" Angel kept his tone light, like he didn't know what she would be talking about.
"Yeah, and when he sees you, he - "
Faith's eyes narrowed.
"You did it, didn't you?"
"Uh, did what?" Angel asked. "We should get back to training. You know, your strength and everything. Yes. Training."
"Oh hell no, vampire. We're talking about this now." Faith crossed her arms. "What did you say?"
"Nothing?" he offered, almost meekly.
"Angel."
"I just... I did what had to be done. I just... had a friendly chat about you with him."
"Friendly?" Faith raised an eyebrow.
"Ok, I may have threatened once or twice, but I didn't hit him," Angel told her.
"You threatened him?" she asked.
"Well... yes."
"You know that I can look after myself, right?"
"Yes."
"But - "
"Faith," Angel said gently. "I don't know if you've noticed, but you're kind of my best friend - "
"I'm touched, really," Faith grinned.
"Anyway," he went on. "I have seen you get hurt time and time again, and... well... I don't like watching it, to be honest. So, you know, there's incentive for Sam to not... to not do that to you."
Faith smiled slightly. "But you like him?"
"Well, he's too tall. But there's nothing really wrong with him, I suppose."
