Zac looked up at the critcal moment to see Julie fly through the front door.
"Julie?" he called and walked to the door himself. "Julie?"
But Julie had already gotten into the car and was pulling out of the driveway even as he spoke. If she heard him she was ignoring him.
Zac sighed. She had been giving him the silent treatment ever since that stupid night a couple of weeks ago where she tried to seduce him. Well, mostly. The worse thing about it was that that was when she starting going out regularily. Of course, Julie was her own person, and overall she could go out whenever she wanted but it was taking a toll on himself and Ella - especially Ella - when Julie effectively stopped spending time looking after her kids.
A baby cry came floating down the hall and Zac sighed, getting up to attend the child. When he reached the nursary, however, Ella had beaten him to it. She was looking rather haggard.
"I'm sorry about all this Ella," he said. "Julie's normally pretty good."
Ella shrugged, then pointed to a nearby table. Zac walked over and picked up the printout.
"I took the liberty of calling the agency," Ella said. "She can start tomorrow."
Zac smiled.
"Thanks. I should have guessed that Julie... Sorry."
Ella shrugged and turned back to the children.
