Gingerbread Showdown

Written by Nessa and AiMsTeR

Faith

Faith stretched, then reached out and with a mocking smile, she twisted the head of the man sitting in the chair.

"Seeyoubye."

She tapped the knife against the leg of her pants for a second, before turning and heading for the bathroom.

Sam

Sam flinched as he looked in just in time to see the kill.

At least he'd almost been on time for this one.

Taking a moment to curse himself for not driving faster or having the vision earlier, he stepped down from the window and made his way around to the back of the house as quietly as he could.

He slipped in the ajar back door, and carefully began to back his way through the house.

Faith

Faith smiled slightly, hearing noises from the back of the house.

Ah, party time.

And like that, the Slayer felt herself regain control of her body.

"What?"

Faith looked down at the sink, eyes widening at the sight of the blood, then she spun on her heel and left the room, and saw...

"Oh sh*t. What... oh God... I have to call... oh God."

Sam

Sam stepped in the second after she did, eyes locking instantly.

He'd already heard her reaction, and his hand had gone straight to the small bottle of Holy water kept in his jacket pocket. He'd thrown it over her in an instant, and stepped forward to see the effect.

Faith

Faith recoiled, wincing as the skin that had come in contact with the holy water burned.

"Sam," she said, taking a step back. "You have to go. She... it... I want to kill you."

And with that, she felt herself drowning as she lost control of her own body.

Faith staightened up, eyes flashing gold.

Sam

"I knew it," Sam seethed.

"Get out of her, bitch."

Faith

Faith smirked and shook her head.

"Um, no. See, Sam, I like this body."

She gestured to herself.

"It's all strong and powerful. Oh! And you wouldn't believe the way men look at it."

She eyed Sam.

"Well, actually, maybe you would believe it..."

Sam

"Last chance," Sam's eyebrows rose.

"Leave her now, or I send you straight back to Hell."

Faith

"I'm thinking... neither."

Faith made a move to jump out the window.

Sam

"Stop."

Sam mustered all of his strength together, evident by the sweat beads appearing on his forehead suddenly.

"You're not going anywhere. Not until I'm done with you."

Faith

"Never picked you for the use and abuse, but hey, this one, she's used to that."

Faith smiled slightly, trying to move.

"After all, she let Dean do her."

Sam

"Stay still. Until I'm done."

Sam took a deep breath, then began the exorcism.

"Deus, et Pater Domini nostri Jesu Christi, invoco nomen sanctum tuum, et clementiam tuam supplex exposco: ut adversus hunc, et omnem immundum spiritum, qui vexat hoc plasma tuum. Mihi auxilium praestare igneris. Per eumdem Dominum. Amen..."

Faith

Faith screamed, a combination of the demon inside of her and her true self. She couldn't remember the last time she'd been in this much pain.

"What makes you think," she managed to get out. "That the girl will still be alive once I'm gone? How do you know I haven't damaged her beyond repair?"

Sam

"Sequentes cruces fiant in fronte obessi. Recede ergo in nomine Patris et Filii, et spiritus sancti: da locum spiritui sancto, per hoc signum sanctae Crucis Jesu Christi Domini nostri: Qui cum Patre et eodem spiritu sancto vivit et regnat Deus, per omnia saecula saeculorum. AMEN!"

Sam stood back as the demon forcefully left Faith's body. When it was over, he put the bottle of water away.

"Because she's a Slayer," he said, mostly to himself.

When the dust had settled, he took a step forward.

"Faith?"

Faith

Faith coughed, falling to her knees. She took a few deep breaths, then looked up at Sam, through strands of her hair.

"Present."

Sam

"Good," Sam couldn't help but smile.

He walked over and offered a hand to pull her up.

Faith

Faith took his hand, letting him support her as she got to her feet.

"Thanks. You have no idea how good it feels to be back in the drivers seat. For good, anyway."

She reluctantly let go of his hand, pushing her hair from her eyes.

Sam

"I've got something that migh be able to help with that," Sam suggested.

"Dean had a collection of amulets that keep people from being posessed. You can have one if you want."

Faith

"Yeah, thanks."

Faith looked up at him.

"So, I'm not really good at the whole apology thing, coz I'm generally more owed than owing, but... sorry for bailing. Before, I mean."

Sam

Sam shrugged.

"I'm more confused by it," he frowned a little.

"I mean, I can handle my fair share of demons."

Faith

"Well, I didn't really trust myself to hang around long enough to explain it. Also, I didn't want to end up dead in an ensuing fight."

Faith half shrugged.

"Years of looking out for myself?"

Sam

"I wouldn't have killed you," Sam said sincerely, playing his puppy eyed look.

"I'd been suspicious for a while. And that demon was far too messy to be you."

Faith

Faith ran a hand through her hair, combing through the curls and pulling it across to one side, leaving one shoulder bare.

"Speaking of which..." She gestured around. "Um... I should clean this up."

Sam

"Don't worry about it," Sam insisted.

"I'll call it in like I did the others. Are you ok to drive?"

Faith

Faith nodded.

"Yeah, I feel good. Strangely hungry though."

Sam

"Ok," Sam nodded.

"You're booked in at a motel about five miles South of here. They have a great food bar. Want me to lead you to it or do you think you can find it?"

Faith

"Um..."

Faith reached into her pocket for her keys, noticing that they were jingling that little bit too much.

"Oh man, my hands are shaking."

Sam

"Maybe... you shouldn't drive," Sam suggested.

"But we're both parked a ways down the street, maybe the fresh air on the walk will do you good. Ready to split?"

Faith

"Yeah, I'd like to be gone."

Faith looked around the room, then headed for the door.
