My baby was a street walker

Written by Michelle

Isaac

Isaac turned on his tape recorder and sat down with his guitar.

From dark brown hair
To cute little toes
So charming and witty
She meant so much to me
She was my baby and I loved her so

I found out

My baby was a street walker
A harlot, a hooker, a whore
A courtesan, a scarlet woman
Lady of the night

You can imagine my hurt
When I saw her with another man
He hugged her and kissed her
It tore me up inside

I found out

My baby was a street walker
A harlot, a hooker, a whore
A courtesan, a scarlet woman
Lady of the night

"I'm not cheating," she said
"It's just the work I do"

But how can I be with her
When she's sleeping with other men?
How date I date her
And share her with them?

I found out

My baby was a street walker
A harlot, a hooker, a whore
A courtesan, a scarlet woman
Lady of the night

I asked my baby to find other work
But no, she said, she liked what she did
So though I loved my baby
I left her instead

I found out

My baby was a street walker
A harlot, a hooker, a whore
A courtesan, a scarlet woman
Lady of the night

My baby was a street walker
A harlot, a hooker, a whore
A courtesan, a scarlet woman
Lady of the night
