Libby sat down at the usual table.
"So, Libby," Matt said smugly. "Have you seen Brad today?"
"Yeah," Libby replied slowly, eyeing Matt suspiciously. "He looks like someone did him over with a baseball bat."
Trent lifted up his arms and studied them.
"Well," he said, "not a baseball bat."
Libby looked at him. Trent looked back.
"C'mon, Libs," said Dan. "You didn't honestly think we were going to let him get away with treating you like that, did you?"
A slow smile crept on her face.
"You... you didn't?"
"Of course we did!" Matt declared, banging his fist on the table empathically. "There's no way he was going to get away with treating you like an easy lay. For one thing, you're not. For another thing, if anyone's going to treat you like you're easy, it's going to be me."
Libby giggled.
"Hey, I will not have my position as friendly sleeze usurped."
"Because your honour is the only important factor here," Trent said dryly.
Matt grinned.
"But how did you get away with it? Why hasn't someone healed him already?"
"Ahh, well, you see, that would be Brad's mistake. He went to security before he went to a healer. Y'know, because if he's going to complain about being assaulted he needs proof, right?"
Libby snorted.
"Fine one to complain about being assaulted."
"That's what we thought," Josh agreed.
"Anyway," Trent went on. "So he dobs us in, and we get called in, and of course, we tell them that we were just paying him back for how he treated you yesterday."
Matt laughed.
"It was brilliant! The head security guard on duty? Yeah, he'd beaten up guys before for mistreating his younger sister, he was totally with us," Matt grinned. "They checked the security tapes, confirmed what you had told us, and decided as you hadn't pressed charges that his injuries were to heal on their own."
"But... didn't you guys get in trouble?"
"We got off with a warning," Dan nodded. "First offence, they decided our motives were at least honourable even if not our actions, so yeah. Let us off lightly. This time."
"Oooh, you make that sound so omnious," Matt said.
"Hopefully Brad's state will be enough of an advertisement for any other guys with the same idea to leave you alone," Trent said fiercely.
Libby grinned.
"You guys are awesome. Seriously. I could get used to this."
They laughed.
