"You know that with your scores, you could go anywhere," Liam said, brushing some hair from Tru's eyes.
"Maybe," Tru shrugged, non plussed.
"You don't seem excited."
She shrugged again. "It's just with Lia and everything... I don't know. I used to think I knew what I wanted, but now I just... I just want to spend as much time with my family as I can, you know?"
"It's understandable," Liam said, pulling her into a hug. "You've suffered a considerable loss."
"Yeah..."
"But," Liam continued. "Lia would not want you to put your life on hold, I'm certain. Just because you are moving on with your life doesn't mean you are forgetting."
"I guess." Tru looked up at him. "I applied to Stanford. For Medicine. But I don't know... they should be sending the letters soon, but... I don't know, really."
Liam smiled faintly. "Why not?"
"Well... would you... come with me?" she asked quietly.
He kissed her forehead. "I would."
