"So, we're cool?" Kim asked, as he and Faith walked through the streets, in the direction of the motel.
"Yeah," Faith replied, shrugging. "I guess so. I mean... you know, we didn't fight or anything."
There was an awkward silence between the two.
"I might call it a night," Faith said.
"It's still early," Kim pointed out.
"Yeah, but Sam was gonna get us dinner and I'm kinda beat, so..." she shrugged again. "Um... guess I'll see you around."
They stopped in the parking lot, just across from Faith's motel room, and Kim touched her cheek softly.
"Yeah, guess so."
Faith turned her head away and nodded, before jogging back towards her room.
Sam
Sam met Faith at the door.
"Oh hey," he turned and started walking backwards as he headed off, "any last minute order changes? Last chance!"
Faith and Kim
"Something I can eat off your body?" Faith teased, before disappearing into the motel room.
Kim watched the exchange, then changed his course of direction, deciding he'd beat Sam to the diner and teleport just outside.
Sam
Sam played with his phone as he walked, smirking at a message from Dean that of course involved the word 'pie'.
Shaking his head in amusement, he looked up just before he ran headlong into Kim. He stopped in his tracks, almost tripping over himself.
"Kim?" he frowned.
Kim
"Well, fancy meeting you here."
Kim smirked slightly.
Sam
Sam paused to look behind him, then turned back to face Kim.
"Yet another non-chance meeting I assume," he said bluntly.
Kim
"Was in the area," Kim shrugged. "Patrolling with Faith."
He folded his arms across his chest.
Sam
"Yeah, she told me," Sam couldn't help but smirk a little.
"So what now? The 'stay away from my girl' speech? Or will you just go straight to threatening me outright?"
Kim
"Well," Kim considered. "I know she's not actually my girl. But you know, soon."
He took a step towards Sam.
"I just think she could do better. And I'm looking out for her."
Sam
"Right, so... question," Sam stood back a little, casually.
"You and Angel don't reall get on, do you?"
Kim
"Never had a problem either way," Kim shrugged.
"Didn't have a whole lot to do with each other."
Sam
"I wonder why," Sam muttered under his breath, looking away.
Kim
"I'm just giving you some advice... if you care about her, walk away now."
Kim shrugged.
"You're bad for her."
Sam
"How so?" Sam sighed, not sure whether he could be bothered hearing him out or not.
Kim
"You've got a lot of baggage."
Kim shrugged slightly.
"I just don't want to see her get hurt again, is all. And I think you'll do that to her."
Sam
"On what grounds? Seriously?" Sam shrugged.
"You don't know me. You're going off of pure base instinct born out of juvenile jealousy!"
Kim
"I know her," Kim replied simply.
"And I know the signs, is all. What kind of life can you possibly offer her?"
Sam
"The kind that she wants and craves," Sam counteracted.
"What do you plan to do, turn her into a housewife?"
Kim
"Of course not," Kim scorned. "But I could give her a little stability."
He shrugged.
"On second thought, let's just do the guy thing."
And with that, he punched Sam in the jaw.
Sam
Sam took the hit like a man, huffing a little when he'd recovered.
"I don't want to fight you," he shook his head, a bit sick of getting punched so much lately.
Kim
"Don't really see a way around it."
Kim punched him again.
Sam
Sam blanched but caught Kim's wrist in a firm grip.
"Don't make me break it," he threatened.
Kim
"Like to see you try," Kim scoffed.
He wrenched it back.
Sam
"I could snap you like a twig if I wanted to," Sam almost did want to, but held himself back.
"I just happen to have a conscience, so I won't."
Kim
"Worried that Faith will get mad at you?" Kim challenged.
He smirked slightly.
Sam
"Not so much," Sam shrugged.
"You're also just not worth it."
Kim
"Mmm ok."
Kim grinned faintly.
"Coz you know, if you're feeling tired, just let me know. Anything you need me to take off your hands and do for you."
Sam
Sam smirked, then landed a heavy punch across Kim's left cheek, feeling the bones bend.
"Now that, you asked for," he breathed.
Kim
Kim recoiled, a cut opening up where Sam punched him. He breathed for a second, then slammed a fist into Sam's stomach.
"Yeah, and you asked for that."
Sam
Sam yelled out, feeling the stitches in his abdomen rip open. The precise reason he hadn't wanted to fight.
He staggered back into the nearby wall, hands over the wound, and blood starting to seep through his fingers already.
"Damn I liked this shirt," he breathed, closing his eyes and breathing heavily.
Faith and Kim
Faith had left the motel, wondering what was taking Sam so long and she had caught the tail end of the show.
She appeared, amost out of nowhere, punching Kim hard in the face.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"Faith, I - "
"Save it."
She turned her attention to Sam, and slid her arm around his waist to take his most of his weight.
"Come on, Pip," she said softly. "Let's get you cleaned up."
Sam
Sam yelped as she pulled him up, just wanting to curl into a ball and pass out.
"Where?" he panted, not even opening his eyes yet.
Kim and Faith
"At a guess, I'd say a hospital," Kim said, with a slight smug tone in his voice.
"I swear to God, one more word Kim and you'll be needing the hospital." Faith kept her eyes trained on Sam.
"Hospital, or I can probably stitch you up. If you trust me enough."
Sam
Sam pulled his hand back a bit, looking at his shirt, before looking up at her.
"At this rate I might need some blood," he looked a little scared, "so... hospital?"
Faith and Kim
"Ok," Faith said softly. "Let's get you there then."
"Uh..." Kim looked slightly awkward. "I could take you..."
Sam
"I think you've done enough," Sam snarked, sure he'd probably drop him in the middle of nowhere.
Faith and Kim
"Just go," Faith said to him. "We'll talk about this soon."
Kim disappeared, face remaining calm but his eyes showing fear.
"Ok, Pip," Faith turned back to Sam. "Let me get us some wheels."
