"She could've killed you."
Lindsey looked up towards the doorway, where Angel was standing, arms folded across his chest, face expressionless.
"I know."
"I wouldn't have stopped her," Angel said, taking a step into the room. "Even after fighting so hard for her. I would've let her do it."
"I know." Lindsey's eyes didn't leave Angel's.
Angel took another step towards the hospital bed, glancing briefly down at Lindsey's bandaged stump, and instinctively, Lindsey leaned back against the pillows, as if they would protect him.
"You won't pull a stunt like that again." It wasn't a request, it was an order.
Lindsey stared at Angel in disbelief.
"When you get out of the hospital, you'll pack your sh*t and you'll leave town."
The vampire paused for a second.
"You don't come back to my town and mess with my people, you understand?" Angel's tone was low and menacing.
"I - "
"Try it again, Lindsey, and you'll lose a lot more than a hand."
And with that threat hanging in the air, Angel turned around and made his way back to the door.
"Oh, and you're fired."
