"You wanted to see me?" Illeanna inquired, poking her head into John Connor's office.
"Yes, Illeanna, come in," John replied. "Have a seat."
Illeanna sat down nervously.
"About this pet of yours..."
"Jaegar."
"Jaegar. I understand that there was an incident last night."
"I'm really sorry about that! He thought I was in danger. He didn't understand that -"
John put up his hand to slience her. Illeanna bit her bottom lip.
"I also understand he's been following you to classes?"
"I can't seem to stop him, sir," Illeanna replied, looking a little shamefaced. "I've tried everything I can think of. But he is a shapeshifter, and he won't stay home with my parents."
John nodded.
"Then I think instead of training him not to follow you around, we should train him to deal with the dangers that you are going to face in the future. One day you will graduate this school, and whereever you go you'll probably take Jaegar with you. Jaegar therefore, must learn how to respond and live with you."
Illeanna was stunned slient.
"So, from now on Jaegar not only has my permission to follow you to classes, I must insist on it. If I thought he was capable I'd have him do the exams."
Illeanna giggled softly.
"I think first thing we need to teach him. however, is the difference between a training exercise and real danger."
Illeanna nodded soberly.
