Rogue stood in front of the mirror in her wedding gown. She eyed her reflection critically.
"Gloves on," she said, frowning.
She took the gloves off and looked again.
"Gloves off."
Decisions, decisions. On the one hand, she thought it looked better with gloves. And it was cold out. On the other hand, she had worn gloves for a good portion of her life out of neccesity. Did she really want to wear such a symbol on her wedding day?
"Well, don't yo' look just divine?"
Rogue whirled around, and her eyes fell on Bella Donna Boudreaux, Gambit's ex-wife.
"What are you doing here? How did you get in?"
Bella Donna laughed.
"Come now," she said. "You're getting married to Remy, yes? Surely he would have told yo' what I do fo' a livin'? Or has he been keepin' secrets from yo'?"
Rogue gave her a dark look as she walked around her.
"He's good at that, y'know," Bella Donna went on. "I'd call the weddin' off, if I were yo'. He'll only break your heart."
"If Ah recall correctly, you married Remy once yourself, and you didn't call it off at the last minute eithah."
"No, but our marriage was annulled."
"Before or aftah he took you to his bed?"
The two women were silent for a time, eyeing each other off warily.
"That's for me to know, and you to ask Remy," Bella Donna replied finally. "My brother, Julien... he knew what Remy was like, you see. He knew he was a thief and a womaniser. Mark my words, he'll cheat on you as soon as your back is turned."
"Not on me, he won't."
"That's what all his lovers say."
"Ah'm not his lover. I'm going to be his wife. And Ah don't believe Remy ever cheats on his wives."
Bella Donna laughed for a moment.
"Come now, girl, yo' don't believe that our relationship is over? Yo' and I both know that he only called yo' his fiancee to get at me."
"My, what a high opinion you have of yourself."
"Just warnin' yo'."
"And Ah'm just warning you. Get out. Now. Before you make me do something that might ruin my gown."
