Hearing footsteps coming towards her, Lo looked up from her laptop. She smiled at the arrival, saved the essay she had been working on, and closed the top.
"Hey," she greeted.
Avery slid into the seat across from her. "Hey. When did you get back?"
"About two weeks ago, you?" Lo asked.
"Pretty much just now," Avery replied, grinning. "I thought I'd find my favourite person before I unpacked."
"Awwwww," the other girl pretended to wipe a tear from her eye. "I'm so touched."
Avery laughed. "Shut up. How was LB after I left?"
"In a shambles," Lo told her dramatically. "There was a hunger strike and several of the girls boycotted the mall!"
"Dreaful!" Avery played along.
"How was JD?" Lo asked.
Avery shrugged. "Same old, same old. He's freaking a bit about his med school acceptance."
Lo nodded and made a face. "Ugh, higher education. I have no idea what I want to do tomorrow, let alone after this school thing has finished."
"Same!" Avery tapped on the table absently. "Do you think you'll move back downside, once we're ready for college?"
Lo thought for a moment. "Probably. I know Lauren wants to go to a design school in San Fran, and Stephen is interested in San Fran too. Trey is talking about Bard, and Morgan is looking at Brigham. I think I am the only one without a plan. Maybe Santa Barbara?"
Avery leaned back in her chair. "I'd always liked the thought of taking a year off to travel, or to tour with my brothers. I don't know if I can bear going from school to school."
"Totally," Lo agreed. "I think travelling would be fun. We should do the whole Europe thing. It's like... so standard. You kinda have to do it."
Avery looked interested at this idea. "Do you want to?"
Lo nodded, a grin appearing on her face. "I really want to. Let's start saving now. We'll start jobs or something. And do it."
"I so love you right now."
"Awww."
