A WoW Moment

Written by Michelle

Binar, Cliff and Corinne

Cliff and Binar were already in World of Warcraft when Corinne joined them.

"Oh good, you're here," he said. "Come in, come in."

Corinne logged in, chose her cute little gnome mage and was soon invited to Cliff's party. The three joined up with two others and went into an instance to gain acquire new gear and generally kick butt.

After the instance, they returned to Ironforge to empty their full bags and put unneeded loot on the auction house.

Outside of the auction house Corinne told the boys she thought she would log now: it was late and she wanted to go to sleep. Cliff told her - both verbally and in text not to go just yet.

Dutifully Corinne stood around. Cliff's toon knelt down in front of her and it took Corinne a moment to realise, no this wasn't an ingame action - he was manipulating the code to accomplish it.

Corinne's jaw dropped as his next line of text appeared on the screen:

WILL YOU MARRY ME MIDGETTY?

In fact, she nearly fell out of her chair.

There was silence in the computer room, and Cliff looked up anxiously at his girlfriend.

At last, Corinne typed her response.

You're kidding me right?
You can't seriously think that this is the way to propose to a girl?

Corinne logged out and left the room.

Cliff half rose out of his chair as she feld out the door, then looked over at Binar.

"What I do wrong?" he asked.

"I do not know," Binar replied. "It is a 'yes' or 'no' question. I do not understand how the setting is important."

Cliff didn't either.
