Making Amends

Tanya and Leroy

"Tanya!" Leroy bellowed as he barged into Tanya's apartment.

Kit, who had been happily playing with his toys, promptly burst into tears as Tanya came hurrying into the room.

"Leroy," she frowned, then turned her back on him to comfort her son.

"You've been ignoring me," Leroy glared at her. "Either that, or your new secretary is a bumbling idiot."

"Don't insult Cynthia," Tanay replied. "There, there honey. I'm sure he didn't mean to upset you."

Leroy's expression softened, but only a little.

"Tanya... why?" he asked. "After everything... you're just going to give me the cold shoulder? You're not even going to let me see my own son?"

"Hmm," Tanya replied, standing up to face him. "Let's think about this: You used Tad to spy for you, you mistreat Christian and refuse to respect my opinion in the matter, you interfere in my cases - "

"You're not an agent any more -"

"The word 'case' does not just apply to a agent job. It can apply in medicine, such as when I tend people with telepathic issues. You conspire with Wayne, whom I'm convinced is a complete idiot -"

"Tanya -"

"No! I'm sick of it! I'm sick of all of you!" Tanya would have shouted if it weren't for Kit. "If it weren't dangerous for Kit and I to do so, I'd jolly well go move back down to earth again."

Leroy closed the distance between them, wrapped his arms around her a kissed her. Tanya pulled away.

"Oh no, mister," she growled at him. "You are not going to win doing that this time. No way."

"This arguing, the silent treatment... this whole thing is ridiculas, Tanya."

"And it's your fault," Tanya replied, poking a finger at him.

"You're right."

"And you're..." Tanya stopped and stared at him. "What?"

"You're right."

"I'm sorry, I thought I just heard you say that I'm right."

"That is what I said."

"Okay... who are you and what have you done with Leroy?"

Leroy laughed.

"You can poke into my head and see for yourself if you want," he offered.

"What do you want?" Tanya asked suspiciously.

She could just pop into his head and see for herself, but he did have a sheild, and getting past sheilds - even ones she had created - irritated her.

"I want to fix things between us. I miss you, Tanya. And Kit shouldn't have to grow up with his parents arguing all the time. You're right. It was my fault. I let my curiousity and old professional habits get in the way of things. And I admit that I don't like Christian, and I probably never will, but you're probably right about how we should have taken him out of Craig's clutches when he was younger. I shouldn't have taken advantage of Tad, and I should definitely have mentioned his duplicity to you."

Tanya eyed him cautiously.

"You mean that?" she asked him tentatively.

"Yes, I do," he replied. "And just in case, I have the chocolates and flowers on standby."

Tanya laughed.
