Avery plopped down on her bed, staring up at the blank wall. It was kind of funny, but in all the time she'd been living up at the Station, she'd never bothered to decorate her room the way she had back in Tulsa. It was almost as if she didn't really feel as though it was home.
After all, she did go downside a lot, and only came up to go to classes. For the first few months after she'd moved, she was there full time, but after awhile, with all the drama that had happened on Earth with her family, she felt like she needed to see them more often. In case each visit, as morbid as it sounded, was her last.
And so now, to feel so disconnected from her family, she wondered briefly if she'd ever return to Tulsa. Maybe to pick up her things when they weren't home.
How sad was it that she was having these thoughts?
She'd just finished packing up a few more of her clothes, she was going to be living at JD's on the weekend, and only being at the Station for school. And the only reason she wasn't dropping out completely was because Lo was still up at the Station. And her old friends. Although, she'd drifted from them slightly, and they had no idea what was happening with her right now.
Though she suspected they'd heard rumours. She just hoped they hadn't worked out she was the starring role in the rumour about the telepath being pregnant. How that stuff got around so quickly, she didn't know. It was worse than high school, because all anyone saw was each other, so unless news came from downside, the most they had to talk about was each other.
Maybe sometime this week she'd sit down with Libby and the boys and explain. But maybe not. Maybe she'd only talk to Libby. After all, she was still considering termination, and if everyone knew she was pregnant, there was likely to be a lot more judgement all over the place.
Sometimes living in an enclosed area sucked.
