Mia looked around at the party hall, and then at Tina.
"This is going to rock," she said.
Meanwhile, outside at the front of the palace gates, a TV crew, a radio crew and a few other general reporters were haning around as the guest arrived.
"And here we are outside the gates of the Palais de Genovia," said one of the TV reporters. "The first guests for Princess Mia's singles ball are arriving as we speak."
"This is an exciting occasion," said the co-host. "Could the future Prince of Genovia be arriving tonight?"
"Could be, could be. Ooh, who's this arriving? It's Princess Armelle of Denmark. Princess Armelle currently attends an all-girls school in the USA, and her eldest brother, the Crown Prince Frederik married an Australian woman, the now Princess Mary, last year."
"Doesn't Princess Armelle look stunning?"
Armelle and Tina
Armelle smiled at the press.
"Give us a spin, Princess," one of the reporters called out. Armelle was wearing what looked like a fancy black and purple dress, but with no front below the waist. She wore black leather pants, and had just a bit of her abdomen showing, with the skirt flowing out behind her. She spun about for them to get a nice look at her. She decided she didn't care if there was a scandal.
Stepping into the ballroom, she saw Mia & Tina and headed over.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey," Tina said, shaking her hand. "You look awesome."
"So do you," Armelle said. Tina did a little spin, showing off her fancy pink dress with the big ruffly skirt.
Mia and Prince Harry
"Who's arriving now? Oh, it's Prince Harry!"
"Prince William wasn't able to make the party tonight," said the co-host. "Of course, rumour has it he's seeing a lovely young lady back home, so..."
"Not really all that single?"
"Exactly. Now doesn't Prince Harry look handsome?"
"Yes, yes he does. Prince Harry is also a mutant, although the royal family hasn't been very specific on what his mutation is, only that it kept him from following his career of choice into the military. Instead, Prince Harry is now a movie and television producer for his own company 'Royal Pictures'. You can see his new TV show, Fairview, which starts Monday at 7:30."
Never let it be said they never got in a plug for a show their own network was broadcasting.
Prince Harry made his way up the carpet and inside. This was a real "royal" production.
"Hi ladies," he said. "Thanks for the invite."
"That's okay. Glad you could come," Mia said, smiling at him.
Armelle and Tina
Armelle moved over to shake hands with Harry.
"Hey, Harry, it's been so long since we've been shoved together at some event," Armelle said, grinning. "It's good to see you again. By the way, Mother and Grandmother both insist that you and I would be a 'match made in heaven'," Armelle said, rolling her eyes and making finger quotes.
Tina looked over to see a man she didn't recognize moving stealthily trying to get behind Armelle. He held his finger to his lips and winked at Tina. He got behind Armelle and way about to throw his arms around her.
"Edvard. I'm a Vampire Slayer. Enhanced senses. I've know you were there since you stepped off the red carpet."
"Damn. Oh well. I'm just glad to see my baby sister," he said, kissing her on the cheek. Armelle grinned and hugged her brother tightly. "Melly! Don't break my ribs!" he reminded her.
"Melly?" Tina teased. Armelle blushed.
"Tina, Mia, this is my brother Edvard. Of course you've already met Harry." Edvard bowed to Mia and Tina.
"Your Highness, my Lady."
Mia and Prince Harry
"Sure," Prince Harry grinned. "A slayer and a berzerker... yeah, that's a brilliant idea. Oh, by the way, we're introducing a special license in the UK for you guys, y'know, so you can carry weapons without getting charged for posession or something."
"Ooh, that's a good idea," Mia said. "I should do that too."
Armelle
"We should suggest that to Mother," Armelle said to her brother, who nodded.
"So, who else is coming to this ball?" Armelle asked Mia.
Mia
"Umm, let me see..." Mia had to stop and think about it.
She looked around the room to try and figure out who hadn't arrived yet.
"Prince Félix of Luxembourg," she said. "Prince Amedeo of Beligum and his sister, Princess Maria Laura. I think she's the youngest one here - only seventeen."
Tina and Armelle
"And a bunch of other people we've never met," Tina said. "All this to prove we're not lesbians," she said, rolling her eyes.
"Oh, you get that too?" Armelle said, sighing. "Some tabloid said that about me, and Eddie here threatened them. It was really awesome."
Prince Harry and Mia
"What the media won't do for a good story," Prince Harry said, shaking his head.
Then he turned to Mia and held out his arm.
"Shall we dance?"
Mia grinned.
"Sure," she replied, giving a little curtsey.
Tina and Armelle
"They're kinda cute together," Armelle remarked, looking at Mia and Harry. Tina nodded.
"Well, would you like to dance, Your Grace?" Edvard asked Tina. "Why yes, Your Highness," Tina said, taking his hand.
"And as usual, I'm left here, talking to myself," Armelle remarked, as she helped herself to an hors'deurve.
"Oh, don't do that, Mel," a boy said, sneaking up behind her.
"Felix!" Armelle said, grinning. "I haven't seen you in a good year or so! How have you been?"
"I've been well. Starting university. You?"
"Private school in America," Armelle said. Felix nodded.
Mia and Prince Harry
"Looking forward to Monday?" Mia asked.
"Like you wouldn't believe," Prince Harry replied. "After all the hype we've given this, I really, really hope it all pays off."
"I'm sure it will. I'm looking forward to it."
Armelle
"So, why are we all here again?" asked, stealing an hors'deurve.
"The tabloids have been spreading nasty stories about Mia and Tina being lesbians, so it was decided that they needed to be seen in the company of some nice young men. Also, apart," Armelle explained.

And thus it was that the nobels had a good time. No on actually hooked up, which, given the fact that most of them are distantly related given the Europeon royal lines' tendancy to intermarry, was probably a good thing.
