Orion, Percy and Draco we headed out to the cafeteria for lunch. as the entered the long hall towards the caf, a lovely smell filled their noses.
"Oh, do you smell that?" Orion said, looking to his brothers, and to Saku.
"Mmmm, chicken," Percy said, his a purr in his throat. Sometimes they purred in human form.
"Smells so good," Draco said, his pace quickening. He might need blood to survive, but he still loved to eat.
Saku
"Chicken!" Saku exclaimed happily. "Oooh, I love chicken. Glorious, succulant chicken."
He bounded towards the chicken.
Vampire kitties
The three cats moved quickly into the cafeteria, where they saw one of the cooks standing next to a brand new rotisserie oven, full of chicken.
the three brothers moved right up to the counter and stared longingly at chicken waiting for the cook to come to them.
"You boys know what you want for lunch?" she asked.
"Chicken!" Orion answered. and the other two readily agreed to them.
"Okay, for the four of you?" she asked. they nodded. She put a whole chicken a platter and handed it to Percy
"That's not going to be enough for the four of us," Draco said, so she took a second one and handed it to Orion. The woman expected the boys to grab silverware and plates from the end of the counter, but they didn't. The boys sat down at an empty table, one chicken in front of Percy & Draco, one in front of Orion and Saku.
Saku
Saku reached over and pulled off a drumstick.
"Mmm," he sighed happily, gazing at it.
He sniffed at the chicken leg, enjoying the aroma, and then swiftly devoved the meat off the bone.
Vampire kitties
Orion grabbed the other drumstick and ate it very quickly, while Percy and Draco employed another tactic. Percy pulled the skin off the top of the chicken in a bit piece and slithered it into his mouth, while Draco ripped off a wing. The meat fell off the bone into his hand and he shoveled it into his mouth.
"Oh, napkins," Draco said. He jumped up and darted over to the counter and grabbed a stack of napkins and brought them back, setting them on the table as he reached over to the now bare breast of the chick and pulled off a handful of meat, shoving it into his mouth.
Saku
The drumstick now eaten, Saku went about demolishing his half of the chicken he was sharing with Orion. He ate enough of the skins to get to the meat and started peeling off pieces with both hands and plopping them into his mouth. He had a pretty good system going, one hand peeling while he other hand fed his mouth and then switched.
Vampire kitties
Declan, Finola, Liam and several other students were watching the four boys. They were shoveling the food into their mouths with both hands looking like they'd never eaten before in their lives.
"You know, sometimes I forget they're not human. Until times like this," Liam joked.
Finola cocked her head to the side, watching Orion eat. It really didn't bother her, she thought it was kind of funny.
Draco went for his drumstick and started to pick it clean, while Orion ripped off a wing and shoved it in his mouth, pulling the bones out from between his teeth.
"Um, Saku?" Percy said between bites of chicken. "Are we being watched?"
Saku
Saku looked up for about three seconds and returned his eyes to the chicken.
"Yes," he said between mouthfulls. "I... believe... so."
Percy and Draco
"Kay, just wondering," Percy said, as he stripped off some more chicken. "Wow. You guys eat like animals," Declan said. "We are animals," Draco pointed continuing to eat.
Saku
"Aww," Saku said forlornly, discovering he had already eaten his half of the chicken.
No! Wait! The wing! He snatched it up eagerly.
Vampire kitties
Orion sighed as he realized the chicken had been stripped bare. "I think it's dead now," he said.
"Ours too," Percy said. He and Draco were wiping their hands off on napkins.
Saku
"Yes," Saku agreed, smacking his lips.
He sighed and patted his stomach.
"I think I shall have a nap."
Vampire Kitties
"Mmm. Nap sounds good," Orion said. The other two swiftly agreed with him.
"We do have class in an hour, though," Draco pointed out.
"Yes, but that's an hour away," Percy said. They all had a study period after lunch. Mainly because their teachers knew that cats always sleep after a meal.
