Locating Slayers

Written by Joy

Willow, Giles and Cassie

Willow was very confused. She'd already contacted the Dathrian slayer in New Mexico, and now she'd located the first Sem Slayer in Connecticut. It made sense that they'd both crop up at once. What didn't make sense was this new slayer she was sensing right in Cleveland. Whoever it was was very powerful, definitely a hybrid, like Friday.

"Is it because of Becky?" She asked herself. "Am I just off today? This makes no sense." She concentrated again.

"OH MY GODDESS!" Willow yelped.

"Willow? Is something wrong?" Giles asked, running in from next door.

"You will never believe this. Never in a million years. Cassiopeia is a Slayer."

"Dear Lord. Are you joking?"

"Nope. I think it's the PTB's quirky sense of humour. Definitely surprising, but it kind of makes sense in a twisted sort of way," Willow said.

"I guess so. Did you call the family in Connecticut yet?"

"No. Can you do that? I'm going to go talk to Cassie."

"Mrs. Delancy? My name is Rupert Giles. I'm the headmaster at the boarding school for Vampire Slayers in Cleveland, Ohio. You may have heard of it through YIRAAS?" Giles was shocked at the reply he got through th phone. "Really? You're elder daughter? Oh my, I'm very sorry to hear that. It seems your younger daughter is a vampire slayer, and we'd like for her to come to school here for training and safekeeping." Giles was happy with how quickly the woman agreed to have an interview. Giles would drive to Connecticut the next day to meet with the family. He'd be bringing a slayer with him as well, just in case the girl's vampire sister decided to show up. Probably Armelle, as Friday and Kella were still on holiday.

"Cass?" Willow said, knocking on Cassie's door.

Come in the telepathic message came into Willow's head. Willow opened the door to find a calico kitten curled up at the end of Cassie's bed.

"Cassie, could you shift human? We need to have a talk." Cassie changed into human shape.

"Am I in trouble?" she asked.

"No, not at all. It turns out, you're a Slayer." Cassie's eyes bugged out.

"You're joking, right?"

"Nope. I know it's weird. I checked multiple times. It's weird because you weren't born yet when the spell was cast, and you haven't turned thirteen, but physically you're past puberty. It's been driving my senses mad."

"It explains a few things, " Cassie said, slowly. "But, wait. I'm not going to have some sudden urge to kill myself, am I?" she asked, worried, "Or my brothers?"

"No. because you're not evil. That I can promise you. I don't know how it's going to affect your relationship with your mother," Willow said gently.

"What relationship? She shows up every couple months and leaves something dead on my doorstep. It's her version of birthday and Christmas cards. I'm not killing her though," she said.

"Don't worry," Willow said, "I believe Drusilla understands the rules. She's allowed to watch, but the moment she kills one of my girls, she deals with me." Cassie nodded.

"So, now I belong here for real?" She asked, a little excited.

"Yep, you're 100% Slayer. Moreso, even, because you're hybrid."

"This is going to take some getting used to," Cassie said,

"Yes. You still have to follow the rules though. No big magic without talking to me first, and now using magic on others without their permission." Cassie nodded.

"Okay, I'm pretty sure you want to go talk to your brothers, so run on over there," Willow said, and Cassie scuttled out of the dorm, and headed towards the Watcher Academy.
