Instead of spending another day in Disneyland, Friday, Kella and Susie decided to go down to LA and visit the office of Wolfram and Hart.
"I think it's about time I met this Angel dude," Friday had decided. "I keep hearing about this vampire with a soul that's friends with Faith and Spike. I wanna be able to put a face to the name."
And thus it was that the women wasted an hour or two trying to find the place, but they did eventually find it.
Angel and Gunn
"Boss?" Harmony's voice came through chirpily over the intercom.
"Mmm?" was Angel's reply as he perused the documents that Gunn had just handed him for approval.
"There are 3 Slayers here to see you."
"Three?" Gunn looked surprised, settling down on an armchair in front of Angel's desk.
"Who are they?" Angel asked.
"Faith in town?" Gunn questioned.
"Maybe, we've been in and out of contact lately," was the answer, without a change in tone.
"Bad subject?" Gunn pressed.
"Hmm? No, we keep each other updated with the important things."
Meanwhile, Harmony turned to the new arrivals.
"Could I get your names please?" she asked happily, tapping her pen against her desk.
Friday
"Sure," said Friday. "I'm Friday Black, this is Killer Kella, and this is my watcher Susie. We're from the slayer school."
Kella grinned.
"We were in the neighbourhood and thought we'd introduce ourselves."
Angel and Gunn
"Thanks!" Harmony trilled, then pressed the intercom button. "Boss, it's Friday Black, ummm Kella and Susie. They're from the Slayer School."
Angel set the paperwork down on the desk.
"Thanks Harmony, send them in."
"Wonder if there's a problem," Gunn mused.
Friday
Friday, Kella and Susie walked into the office as directed.
"This is certainly going to be interesting," Kella mused.
"Very," Friday replied, as they walked through the door.
Angel and Gunn
Both Angel and Gunn stood from their seats as the three girls walked in.
There was a bit of a pause before Angel greeted them.
"I'm Angel, and this is Charles Gunn."
Friday
"Nice to finally meet you," Friday said. "I'm Friday, but you can call me Day. This is my watcher Susie, and Killer Kella."
Kella, dressed sexily in red as per usual, gave a wink.
Angel and Gunn
"From the school, I understand?" Angel said, then gestured to the couch in his office. "Take a seat, can I get you anything to drink?"
Gunn resumed his seat in the armchair. Despite Angel not talking to him, you just didn't refuse a suggestion from the big man.
Friday
The girls sat down.
"Got any pop?" Kella asked. "I like creaming soda myself."
"Same," Friday said. "But I'll take Fanta. Or coke."
"Water, thank you," Susie said.
Angel and Gunn
Angel relayed the message back to Harmony, receiving a cheerful "Ok Boss!" in return.
"Social call, or is there trouble a-brewin?" Gunn asked.
Friday
"Social call," Friday said. "We were in the neighbourhood, and I thought it about time we met. Y'know, instead of just hearing stories from Faith and Spike. Not that they tell many stories, but, y'know."
Angel and Gunn
Angel nodded slightly. "Well, a relief there's no trouble."
"We've had more than our fair share," Gunn put in. "A break is nice."
Friday
"Yeah," Friday agreed.
"It could be the calm before the storm," Kella said mischeviously.
"Kel."
"Yeah, Day?"
"You're a born troublemaker, aren't you?"
"You know it."
Angel and Gunn
"You learn to appreciate the pauses in trouble," Angel said.
"So, Faith mentioned she was over at the school awhile back... what was she like?" Gunn asked.
Friday
"Good," Friday replied. "She taught a few classes and we did some patrolling. Faith and I use to patrol once a week, just me and her. Now there were some interesting nights. Learnt a lot. She definitely knows her stuff."
"I just love the way she deadpans Tiff," Kella snorted. "She so asks for it."
"Oh, did I mention I found a guarrenteed way to make her go completely psycho?"
"Turn her into a boy?"
"Well, other than that."
"Don't think so."
"You get dirt on her clothes. Or break one of her nails. She's goes bezerker."
"Really? Cool. I was beginning to wonder why she lasted so long."
Susie coughed.
"Sorry," Friday said. "Tiffany is this complete and utter ditz who seems to care more about her clothes and hair and that sort of stuff than about her own life. Even when on patrols. Right up until a vampire gets blood on her clothes, and then she dusts him. Why she doesn't dust him before he gets that close I have no idea, but yeah."
Gunn and Angel
"I figured she'd teach you a lot," Gunn said, nodding.
"Faith's gotten herself into some pretty tricky situations, but she's always managed to come out the other side again," Angel told them.
"She didn't stay around very long, did she?" Gunn asked.
Friday
"A month or two," Friday replied with a shrug. "By then it was the end of the school year, so there was no point in hanging around. I don't know if she's planning on coming back when school starts again or not."
Angel
Angel nodded.
"I'll talk to her about going back... I think she'd be good for you guys."
At that moment, Harmony appeared in the room with their drinks.
Friday
"Oooh thank you," Friday said.
Kella and Susie also added their thanks.
"She's certainly been good for me," Friday went on.
Angel and Gunn
"How long are you in this part of LA?" Angel asked.
"You should do some training here," Gunn put in.
Friday
"Well, other than a party we're going to tomorrow in Tulsa," Friday said, "We're planning on being here for the rest of the month, give or take a couple of days. Haveta be back at school come September."
"What kind of training?" Kella asked. "Same old? Or new stuff?"
Angel and Gunn
"Some new, some old, and some more extensive weapon training," Angel said.
"And Wesley might want to go over some training techniques with you too," Gunn continued. "We all have different fighting styles, so it might be worth a spar with everyone."
Friday
Friday and Kella looked at each other.
"Cool," they said together.
Angel and Gunn
"So, was there anything I can help you with right now?" Angel asked.
"Hey, I might head off, I've got a case to finish up," Gunn said, standing from his chair. He sketched a salute at the girls. "It was good meeting you."
Friday
"Nice to meet you too," Susie said.
"Not really," Friday said in answer to Angel's question. "Like I said, we were in the neighbourhood and figure it was about time we met. When should we come back for training?"
Angel
"Hmmm," Angel thought out loud, consulting his schedule which Harmony had lay out for him in the morning. He made a mental note to remind her to stop drawing hearts and rainbows on it.
"Unless we receive word of an impending apocalypse, I should have most of the next two weeks free."
Friday
"Impending apocalypse," Kella repeated with a snicker.
"Rightio," Friday said. "So how does Monday sound?"
Angel
Angel nodded.
"That sounds fine. If I can track down Faith by then, I will try and get her here."
Friday
"Sounds good," Friday said. "Well, I guess we'd better let you get back to lawfirm type stuff. Thanks for seeing us."
"And for the drinks," Kella added.
The three stood up.
Angel
Angel stood and came out from behind his desk.
"No problem."
He held out his hand to shake their hands.
Friday
The girls shook hands with Angel and then departed.
"Not what I expected," Kella commented as they made their way back to the hotel.
"I can't wait for the training on Monday, though," Friday replied gleefully.
"Yeah. That'll be awesome."
