Lo sat in front of her laptop, chatting online to her friend back in Laguna, LC. She frowned slightly, missing the beach and her old life, but she shook it off before she could get too upset. Her father had just gotten a new job which had transferred them to the Station, and it was a good move for him. So, she was happy for him. She really was. She just wondered if she'd fit in up here.
"Hey Lo?" her mom peered around the corner into her room.
"Yeah mom?" Lo looked up and smiled.
"Your father and I still have a whole lot of unpacking to do and probably won't have time to stop to make dinner, do you want to go get us some take out?" Mrs Bosworth asked, holding out her wallet to her daughter.
"Sure," Lo replied, signing offline and hopping up from her seat. She padded over to her mother to accept the money, then rifled through some of the boxes to change her clothes. There was no way she was going out in these daggy clothes she'd put on to unpack. What if she ran into some cute boys?
Selecting a green halter neck top with a yellow long sleeved shirt over the top, coupled with a dark denim short skirt, and green thongs to match the green shell earrings she was already wearing, Lo dressed quickly. She swept her long hair over her shoulder and tied it back into a low side ponytail.
"It's not a fashion show," her mother called from the next room, sensing her daughter was dressing up for the short trip to the food level.
"It's always a fashion show, mom, always," Lo called back, grinning. She scooped the wallet up and took out some money, then put it into her own purse and headed out to get the family food, going to the cafe that her mother had told her to go to.

Avery was sitting at a table in Jugglers Cafe, stirring her mocha absently, while chatting to Jas as she weaved in and around the tables.
"So how was your brother's place?" Jas asked, adding up an amount on the till for the customer.
"Yeah, wasn't too bad," Avery replied, taking a sip of her coffee. "You coming to the party?"
"Oh God yeah," Jas told her. "But I'll be late. I have to work until 9."
"No worries, I mean, we're not starting until like 7:30," Avery said.
"Awesome."
"Excuse me?" a very American voice said from in front of the counter.
Avery looked over to see the other blonde girl.
"Hey, how can I help you?" Jas asked, snapping into waitress mode.
"I have a pick up for Bosworth," Lo replied.
"Ok... I'll grab it for you." Jas smiled and then headed out to the kitchen to get the food.
"You must be new," Avery said, turning to face Lo.
"Is it that obvious?" Lo asked, leaning against the counter.
"Not really... I just remember looking that scared when I first got here," Avery grinned.
Lo laughed. "I'm Lauren, but call me Lo."
"Avery."
"How long have you been here?" Lo asked.
"Ooh, like a year? On and off," Avery replied. "My family's still in Tulsa. I'm just here for school and training with Tanya."
"Ahhh, powerful telepath then," Lo said, looking suitably impressed. "I'm a telekinetic. Dath. You?"
"Same." Avery found herself warming to the new girl. "Where are you from normally?"
"Laguna Beach," Lo told her, then laughed as she saw Avery's look of confusion. "It's a really small town in the OC."
"Oh! Oh man, you're a beach kid, aren't you? So jealous! All I have in Tulsa is cows," Avery replied.
"Animal or bitches?" Lo joked.
"Take your pick," Avery giggled.
"Hey, here you are, that'll be $33.90," Jas cut in, reappearing with the food.
"Oh here," Lo said, handing the appropriate money over. "Oh crap, now to find my way back."
Avery stood. "If you want, I can show you back, I should go back to my room anyway."
"That'd be awesome, thanks," Lo said gratefully.
Avery tossed a few bills down on the counter for her coffee. "I'll see you tomorrow probably."
"Jake's working until 12, so we're heading to the movies at 1. But if you wanna catch Dave and Bossco, they'll be in the arcade all morning, I think," Jas said.
"Hot." Avery leaned over the counter to hug the older girl. "I'll catch you then."
She started to lead Lo out of the food court and back to the living quarters.
"So, this must seem so boring after Laguna," Avery said.
"Not really, I mean Laguna's really pretty and all, but it's like a bubble. You just gotta leave it sometime. Plus, all this space stuff, it's kinda cute," Lo replied.
"Oh totally," Avery agreed. "But it gets old after some time. I usually go down to the surface every couple of weeks, just so I can get my mojo back."
"That's such a good idea, I think I'll go a bit stir crazy here," Lo confessed. "I like to have variety, I think."
"Oh yeah, you gotta," Avery nodded.
The two blondes kept talking and comparing notes, becoming fast friends, until Avery dropped Lo off at her place, and they agreed to meet up after dinner to go get a coffee and maybe see a movie if it wasn't too late.
