Freedom

Written by Nessa

Avery

Avery lay back on her sun lounge, eyes hidden behind oversize sunglasses. Her normally tanned skin had already darkened to a honeyish hue, complimenting the white string bikini she was encased in. With her long, lean body, she looked like she was born for the beach life.

"This is so much better than sweating it out in Tulsa with the cows," Cailyn spoke up, snapping Avery from her daydreams.

"Tell me about it," Avery agreed. "So good to be parentless and fancy free."

"Sun, swimming and boys, it's all good - no, it's all great!" Kylie corrected herself.

"Nothing but fun, no homework, no one checking up on us... just freedom," Danielle groaned in pleasure.

"Freedom," Avery echoed. "Did we mention how awesome your sister is, Cai?"

"Once or twice, but not completely unjusitified," Cailyn replied.

Avery rolled onto her stomach to start tanning her back, pausing for a moment to take a sip of her kiwi smoothie.

"Ooh, hottie, ten o'clock," Danielle piped up.

"Video gaming magnet, waiting for technology to catch up with him," Kylie discouraged.

"This one's ready for marriage," Avery commented, watching another guy walk by.

"How do you know?" Cailyn asked curiously.

"Pierced ear. He knows pain and he bought jewellery," Avery smiked.

The other three girls giggled and relaxed back onto their sunbeds.

"Mmmm, so good to be free," Cailyn sighed.
