Faith was out patrolling by herself, for the first time since she'd arrived at the school.
It felt good to have no baby slayers to train or look out for. As nice as company was occassionally, she longed for solitude. She loved to hunt, to track and to slay by herself, depending on no one else, without the responsibility of others. She had been supposed to go out with a grouo tonight, but she cancelled on them in favour of going alone. She was going slightly mental at all this interaction with young girls.
A rustling in the bushes caught her attention. Faith cocked her head for a moment. It wasn't a vampire, or a demon. Something else, but definitely not human.
"Alright, come on out and I'll kill you quickly, then go about my business," Faith said, tapping her boot against the ground.
"Well, that's not much incentive for me to come out, is it?" a male voice answered, as he stepped into view.
"Probably not," Faith said, giving the guy the once over. Tall, gorgeous smile, and his eyes... there was something about him that she didn't quite trust.
"So, are we doing this?" Kim asked.
"Oh, we're doing it."
Faith spun around, executing a perfect roundhouse kick that connected her foot with his cheek.
Kim reeled back. She was strong. Super strong. And there was something dangerous about her beauty. Something... alluring. She had to be a vampire. It all fit. The leather, the strength, the fact she was out so late - and alone. He knew there was a school of slayers in the area but she was too old to be a student. The odds were against her. He snapped out a left hook and she dodged it expertly.
He was taken by surprise as she backflipped and managed to kick him with both feet as she landed. He stumbled, falling to the ground, then quickly shot his leg out to trip her. She jumped over it, almost as if expecting it.
Kim flipped to his feet, just as Faith pulled out her knife.
"Didn't think you guys needed weapons," he said, breathing deeply.
"We don't. I just like having one."
He grabbed her arm and bent it back, pulling her against him, before head butting her.
"Ok that almost hurt."
Faith moved her arms out, then twisted, bringing her knee up into his groin as she slashed down his forearm.
"So did that."
"Cute."
"I've been told."
Kim released his grip slightly, and she pushed back from him. He teleported behind her and grabbed her around the neck, pressing a stake into her chest with his other hand.
"I'm really not into the poetic justice thing," Faith said, before throwing her head back and smacking into his face.
"Wouldn't it just be regular justice?" Kim asked, letting go of her in shock, just slightly.
Faith took advantage of his shock and slammed her foot down onto his, then grabbed his stake and ducked out of his hold.
"Who are you?" Kim asked.
"Faith. The Vampire - "
"Faith!" Angel called out from Oz's van.
Faith looked over at Angel, then back at Kim. She reached up to plunge the stake into his heart but he teleported away.
"You and me, we'll finish this real soon," Faith said, turning and running for Oz's van.
"We will," Kim said, wiping the blood from his lip, as he watched her run.
So now he knew she was a vampire. And as much as he realised he had to kill her... there was something almost alluring about her.
