Shopping for dresses

Oliver, Yvette, Miette, and Libby

Miette chuckled.

"Duke was telling me he'd like to be your best man. I guess he'll be happy with groomsman," she said. "So, who else are you having?"

"Hunter's my best man, and Ivan's my other groomsman."

"What about Jason?"

"Mi, I haven't even spoken to Jason in what? Two years?"

"Haven't you? Well, you haven't missed anything. He's still a womanising jerk."

"Thought so."

"I take it he's not invited."

"Not even to be polite."

It was at that point that Yvette, Libby and one of Yvette's friends entered the room.

"Well, since all you ladies are here -" Oliver began, starting to stand.

"Don't worry honey," Yvette replied, waving him down. "We just came to pick up Miette, and then we're out shopping."

Miette smiled, and stood up as Oliver sat back down again.

"Okay, well, I'll see you later. Have fun shopping."

"Oh, we will."

Miette joined the girls, and they headed to the commercial centre to shop for wedding dresses.

"Do I have to wear a dress?"" Libby asked, looking around at the dresses with a turned up nose.

"Yes," Yvette affirmed.

Libby sighed, and then moved away from sight of the outside of the shop. Just in case one of her friends saw her in here. Not that she minded being one of Yvette's bridesmaids, she just didn't want to be seen in girly clothes. Or looking at them.

"Aww," said Yvette's friend. "Those flower girl dresses are so cute!"

"I know," Yvette smiled. "I'm still trying to decide which ones to put Gina and Peta in."

"Two flower girls, huh?" Miette asked.

"Yeah, saves having to choose between them and one feeling left out. Harry's the only page boy though - I don't think that Billy is quite old enough to be a second one!"

"No, perhaps not."

"Some of these gowns are so beautiful!" murmered her friend.

"Yeah, but they're white."

"Refusing to have a white wedding dress?"

"Yep. I'm going with orange. It's a great orange, but it's not bright, if you know what I mean. Here's my sample," and Yvette pulled out her swatch of material.

Libby rolled her eyes as the three older girls looked at the material. If she ever got married, she was going to wear her pajamas.
