Shy That Way

Written by Nessa and Michelle

Tristan

Tristan lifted her cousin onto the kid's swing set and buckled her in.

"I want to go hiiiigh, Trizzy!" the little girl exclaimed.

"Well then high you shall go," Tristan replied, ruffling her hair playfully, before walking around behind her and pushing her in the swing.

"Weeeeeeeee, higher, higher!"

"Alright, but not too high Meggles, you don't want to fall and hurt yourself," Tristan answered.

Megan let out a stream of giggles and happy squeals as she was pushed in the swing.

Zac and Saku

Zac and Saku arrived at the park on wheels. In unison, they both jumped off the first step and landed on the pavement below cleanly on their rollerblades. Although, Saku felt the need to show off by doing a flip and still managed to land more gracefully than Zac.

"I am a cat," Saku pointed out with a smile.

Zac shrugged and they skated on. As they got to the swings, Zac paused.

"What?" Saku asked.

"I know her from somewhere," he frowned.

Tristan

Tristan let her cousin swing herself on the swingset and hopped into the other chair. She kicked her legs out to gain momentum as she started to swing higher.

"Weeeeeeeee!" her cousin squealed happily.

Tristan laughed, throwing her head back in a carefree manner. She looked up to see Zac and another guy she didn't know.

Zac and Saku

"Ah ha!" Zac exclaimed.

"Figured it out?" Saku mused.

"Yep," and Zac made his way over.

Saku followed.

"Hey," Zac greeted, "Tristan, right?"

Tristan

"That would be correct," Tristan said, stopping herself from swinging and smiling at the pair.

"Zac, yeah?"

Zac and Saku

"Yep," Zac confirmed. "And this is... my pal Saku."

"Actually," Saku replied cheekily, "I'm his father's brother's son's cousin once removed."

Zac chuckled. How true.

Tristan

"This is Meg, my cousin."

Tristan slowed Meg down on the swings as she said this.

Zac and Saku

"Hi Meg," Zac said cheerfully. "Having fun swinging up and down?"

Saku chuckled, and started skating around restlessly on the spot.

Tristan

"Yeah, but I want to go higher!" Meg exclaimed, giggling.

Tristan shook her head, a smile on her face.

"Maybe another time. So, how've you been? Did you get the delivery?"

Zac

"Yep," Zac said. "Thanks for that. Although I did notice that I got the 50-year-old family man instead of you. Didn't I suck up enough?"

He winked at her, a silly grin on his face.

Tristan

"No, that was me, I just didn't have make up on," Tristan joked.

She grinned cheekily at him, then turned her attention to her cousin for a second, trying not to notice that Zac was hot.

Zac and Saku

"Ahh, I see. Make up," Zac nodded. "Well, you do a remarkable impression of a 50 year old family man. Was the beard real too?"

Saku chuckled.

Tristan

"Yeah, I shaved before I came out today."

Tristan flicked some hair from her eyes.

"So, what else have you guys got planned for the day?"

Zac and Saku

"Well, I have some recording later with my brothers," Zac replied. "And Saku... what are you planning on doing today, Saku?"

"Oh... there's this girl I've been seeing. Might hang out with her for a bit," Saku replied smoothly.

Tristan

"Awesome."

Tristan grinned at Saku's comment.

"A cutie like you? I would expect you'd have quite a few girls to see," she teased.

Zac and Saku

"Oh, well, I do," Saku replied. "But don't tell them that."

He tilted his head sideways and grinned at Zac.

"And don't tell him that either. The way he acts, anyone would think he was my father."

Zac pulled a face at Saku.

Tristan

"It's our secret," Tristan winked at Saku jokingly.

"So, what else is news?"

She turned back to Zac.

Zac

"Ummm..." Zac considered.

He probably shouldn't mention that Taylor was getting married. Even if it was news...

"Nothing, really."

Tristan

"That's exciting."

Tristan grinned.

"So, anything exciting plans for the weekend?"

Zac and Saku

"Hmm... more band," Zac considered. "Eating, drinking, sleeping... no, nothing very exciting."

"Yeah, all that stuff is more relaxing. Well, except for the band stuff," Saku mused. "That's kinda exciting the way you guys argue."

"You're never at band practice."

"Yeah, but you used to have it at your place before you started having it at Isaac and Tay's," Saku pointed out.

"We had soundproofing."

"Not all the time."

Tristan

"Trizzy?" Meg called.

Tristan turned to her cousin. "Mmm?"

"Time."

"Oh yeah, darn, I forgot."

Tristan turned back to Zac and Saku.

"Well, I have to drop Meg back at home, but it was nice running into you again - and meeting you, Saku."

Zac and Saku

"And it was nice meeting you," Saku said.

"Maybe we'll meet again some time," Zac said. "See ya Meg."

"Bye," Saku added.

Tristan

"Bye!" Meg said cheerfully.

Tristan waved and took her cousin's hand as they left the park.
