Finishing It Off

Written by AiMsTeR and Michelle

Taylor

Taylor squeezed Natalie's hand gently as he led her to Tanya's room and knocked.

"Let's hope she can make it," he said softly, eyes on the wedding invitation in Natalie's other hand.

Tanya and Natalie

Tanya checked the screen when she heard the knock, smiled, and opened the door.

"Hi," she said cheerfully, holding the door open for them. "Come on in."

"Thanks," Natalie smiled back, stepping through.

Taylor

"Hey Tanya," Taylor smiled, following his fiancee.

"How have you been? How's Kit?"

He moved some chairs so he and Natalie could sit together.

Tanya and Natalie

"Kit's great," Tanya replied. "He's just playing at the moment."

She gestured to where Kit was lying on a mat on the floor with pretty coloured dangling toys above him. He was grabbing one as she spoke. Natalie smiled and sat down next to Taylor.

"He's so cute," she said.

"Thanks."

Taylor

Taylor smiled and dipped his head for a moment.

"We have something to ask you," he asked, looking across at Tanya.

"Well actually, and invitation to give you."

Tanya and Natalie

"An invitation?" Tanya repeated, looking surprised. "To what?"

Natalie handed her the invitation.

"Our wedding," she said.

"You're... oh! Congratulations!"

"Thanks."

For a moment, Tanya didn't seem to know whether to look at them or the invite, but eventually opened the envelope.

"Oh! June 8th? That's rather sudden."

Taylor

"Well Nat had her heart set on this particular church in Georgia," Taylor explained.

"And we could only book it next month or near the end of the year. Rather than wait until her pregnancy started showing or we ran out of time altogether, you know... it was just easier. I'm sure we'll get it organised in time."

Tanya and Natalie

"Pregnancy?" Tanya repeated.

Natalie blushed, and nodded.

"Aww, congratualtions again," Tanya smiled. "Let me see... I should be able to tell you guys right now if I can come or not..."

She stood, tapped a few buttons on a nearby computer panel and reveiwed the data that came up.

"Hmm... they want me at the amps that day," she murmer. "Eh, they can wait a day, won't kill them."

She tapped a few more buttons, and then turned to grin at her guests.

"There," she said. "Take that as a 'yes' on the rsvp."

Natalie smiled.

Taylor

"Great," Taylor grinned.

"We're keeping it small. And there'll be humans there, so no powers. There may be some press there, we don't know yet."

Tanya and Natalie

Tanya nodded.

"Okay," she said agreeably.

"Hopefully no press'll show up," Natalie said wistfully. "We don't want to make a show of it or anything."

Taylor

"Hopefully the word doesn't get out," Taylor shrugged.

"That's really all we can do to stop them. We don't want to have to have security there."

Tanya and Natalie

"I see," Tanya nodded comprehendingly.

She moved back to the lounge.

"So," she went on. "Is that the only reason you've come here? Or were you planning on having your last treatment now as well?"

"Last treatment?" Natalie repeated.

Taylor

"Last?" Taylor's eyes lightened up.

He glanced at Natalie, then grinned.

"Sure," he agreed, rather taken aback.

"If you're positive..."

Tanya and Natalie

Tanya nodded, smiling.

"Oh, yes. I noticed that ever since Natalie started her treatments, my own became easier. Since they finished, mine became easier still. If I ever have to do something like this again for someone - and I sincerely hope that never happens - I shall ask for your services, Natalie."

Natalie's face lit up in stunned surprised.

"Me?"

"Of course. Obviously the damage needed to be healed on two levels."

"I.. wow..."

Taylor

Taylor wrapped an arm around Natalie and hugged her.

"Thankyou," he said sincerely, before kissing her on the forehead.

"And thankyou," he looked up at Tanya.

Natalie and Tanya

Natalie kissed Taylor back.

"No problem," she said. "This shouldn't take long."

She leant back and sent her mind into Taylors'. Just as she thought, what was left to be done was almost negligable. She made the final changes and pulled out."

"There," she said, only a few minutes later. "Done."

Taylor

"So that's it," Taylor's eyebrows rose.

"No more excuses."

He chuckled.

Tanya

"Nope," Tanya smiled. "No more excuses."
