Assassination Plans

Written by Michelle

Liz and Max

It was months now after his first assasination attempt on the lives of Max and Liz, the supposed Semirellian Royal Family. By now, the Semirellian Purist Movement had to assume that Liz had conceived. They realised that it was entirely possible that she hadn't, but for tactical purposes, they needed to assume that she had.

Not that it changed anything. They still needed to die.

Draagan was still annoyed at having failed. He was their best assassin, and he failed. He was determined to wipe away this shame, but reluctantly realised that they needed to wait a few months for their intended victims to relax their guard and be more prone to forget their clash with death.

The meetings held since then developed a way to deal with Isabel. Over time they had taken prisoner a number of people whom they believed would come in useful 'some day'. Having no special desire to actually feed and water such, they kept all their prisoners chyrogenically frozen. One included a human boy who accidently stumbled upon one of their meetings. A human boy who was actually a friend of Isabel.

At the time, they had one of their illsionists create the scene that the boy was dead. Some questioned this, stating they should just kill the boy outright, or perhaps send him back after a telepath wiped his mind. The latter option was dismissed - Isabel was a dream walker, and they didn't have a telepath who's skill was enough to prevent blocked memories from seeping into Alex's subconscious. Isabel may dream walk into his mind and learn all that they did not want them to learn.

The former option was dismissed citing 'waste not, want not'. If he had not been associted with Isabel, then they would have killed him, but the association my prove useful.

As it had now.

One of the families in the SPM had a telepathic son. He was trained as best as their telepaths could, and still they found his abilities were far more extensive than first realised. As a test, he blocked certain memories of various people in their movement, and their dreamwalkers then spent time walking in the dreams of those people. There was no leakage, and the telepath restored the blocked memories.

Delighted at this, they decided it was time for the human boy to return to Isabel. Their telepath would block his memories, and implant a command to kill Isabel, hidden behind a block designed to wear down after a certain period of time. Their illusionist would immediatly commence an illusion of the boy stumbling and then falling into a wormhole. When the boy would 'comes out of the wormhole', he would find himself in LA, not so far from where Isabel was staying.

Draagan ceased his musings as he spotted his targets exit the building. His Advanced Sight made it possible for him to follow at a distance that wouldn't cause anyone to consider that they could be followed at. Whatever Draagan did, he had to make sure that it was not evident that the SPM was involved in their deaths. YIRAAS was enough of a pain as it was, darn dathrians.

Liz and Max were about halfway to their destination, when Liz lurched over, clutching her hand.

"Liz?" Max inquired, immediately the concerned husband.

His eyes widened as he saw the state of her hand - sparks flying all around it, which soon subsided.

"Liz?"

"What... what happened?" Liz asked, obviously upset.

"I don't know, honey," Max said honestly. "But we're going to find out."

Behind them, Draagan frowned, having seen the sparks also. He made a mental note of it and continued his surveilance, having not yet finally decided on his plan of attack.
