Vampire troubles

Written by Joy

Drusilla, Dracula and Cassie

Drusilla and Dracula strolled through the park after a hunting trip. They'd recently taken up residence in an abandoned cathedral at the edge of one of the older cemetaries in Cleveland. Of course, it wasn't abandoned until the two of them had their fill of clergymen, but they both loved the stereotypes.

Dracula was intoxicated by this city, full of the stench of piety and hunters. He hunted the slayers for sport, tracking them, learning their movements. Drusilla was drawn to the city by her own reasons, family ties that were never completely severed. Dracula felt the familiar scent of Slayers, and slipped out of view. Drusilla dropped the corpse of the toddler she'd been carrying and gracefully atop a mausoleum.

"This way," Kat insisted. "The trail leads this way." The group of slayers passed into the clearing, and one of them spotted a vampire about a kilometer away, on top of an old tomb.

"There she is," Armelle said, opening her fan, but Cassie stopped her.

"Let's go home." she said.

"What?!" Darcy asked, astonished. "There's at least two vampires over there, and you want to let them go?"

"There's way more of us than them," Kat agreed. "We should go for it."

"No," Cassie insisted, her face pure white. "We need to go home right now."

"And let that vampire escape?" Armelle questioned.

"That vampire," Cassie said in almost a whisper. "Is my mother."

"Your mom?" Armelle asked in a weak voice. "That's Drusilla?"

"Yes. And if she's here, then Dracula isn't far behind. And trust me when I say, not a single one of you, not even Friday, is ready to face Dracula." Before anybody had a chance to argue with her, Cassie opened a portal and transported them all back to school. She knew that Willow wold be disappointed in her for using magic on other without their consent, but she had to. She was petrified of the consequences of a confrontation with Dracula, not to mention her own mother.
