Confirming information

Wayne

Wayne arrived at the rehab centre and was escorted to Christian's room. He knocked on the door smartly and entered.

"Christian," he greeted with a nod.

He had gotten Tanya's message, and although sceptical, had arranged a meeting for the first opportunity he had.

Christian

When Christian saw who it was, he put down the drawing pad and sat up on the edge of the bed.

"Wayne," he returned.

Wayne

Wayne decided to get straight to the point.

"I understand you have some information regarding the whereabouts of Racer? Or at least one of his bases..."

Christian

Christian cracked a smile.

"Plenty," he agreed.

"He only has one big base where he keeps all his prisoners. I don't know about personal refuges. It holds people or things he said he needed. It's in Miami."

Wayne

Wayne took that as his cue to pull out the large folded map he had of Miami. He unfolded it and spread it out in front of Christian.

"Tanya mentioned if I brought a map you could pinpoint the spot?"

Christian

"Give me a moment," Christian murmured, taking the map and sitting back onto the bed with it.

He closed his eyes for a moment to try and remember what the surroundings were like both when he'd been taken in, and when he'd escaped. Noting the contours of the land and that it showed the bigger neighbourhoods, he was soon able to point out a farming area on the outskirts.

"It's somewhere here, on this highway," he pointed out, putting the map back in front of Wayne.

"It looks like a tin shed. Two storeys high, but it's mainly for show. It's really weathered. The base itself is underground, and you have to go through the shed to get to it. It's a typical ambush point, but when I escaped I went through a sewer and came up a manhole about 300 metres away. If you can find that, it might be an idea to use it. Once inside, there's three or four levels. I only saw three. Two of them are pretty much a jail, the one below it holds things like cars, guns, ammunition, random illegal crap."

Wayne

Wayne nodded, taking notes, and marked the area indicated on the map.

"Thanks a lot for this, Christian," he said.

He paused, wondering if he should offer something in return. Obviously if the information was sound then they would reward Christian accordingly for his help. But he didn't want to reward him if the information would send them into a trap. Although, given the people involved, there could still be a trap involved that Christian had nothing to do with...

Perhaps a token would be appropriate.

"Is there anything in particular you'd like as a reward?" Wayne asked. "Within reason, of course."

Christian

Christian hesitated, not expecting to be asked. Let alone have to come up with something.

"I don't know," he shrugged.

"To see him brought down successfully would be good. Among other people. And maybe..."

He bit his lip as he got an idea.

"Maybe to see Tanya again sometime soon?" he asked hopefully.

Wayne

Wayne smiled.

"I'm sure we can arrange that," he said.

So, Christian wanted to see Racer brought down (amongst other people). Intriguing. Wayne figured this was probably for more personal reasons than 'safety of the public' reasons, but he would work with this.

"I'll have my people on this before the day is out," he went on. "Anything else you can think of?"

Christian

Christian frowned, trying to think.

"Maybe just... I don't know. If you use the manhole I mentioned, keep an eye out. He might have figured out that's how I got out. He might have even sealed it or something, I don't know."

He shrugged.

"It's been... God, it's been about a year since I was there. Given the time passed I don't think he'd be too worried by now."

Wayne

Wayne nodded.

"I'll make sure they know," he said. "Thank you again for this intel."

He started for the door.

Christian

"I know a great many things about many people," Christian added suddenly.

"But Tanya did say that if they were all brought down at once, someone was bound to get suspicious. See if you can work out a gameplan to make it work, and let me know when you're ready."

He raised his eyebrows.

Wayne

Wayne paused, turned and gave Christian a long, apprasing look. Well! That was unexpected.

"I'll do that," he said slowly.

If Christian had the knowledge that he thought he did... the prospects were enormous.

Christian

"What can I say?" Christian shrugged absently, slightly unnerved at the look he was getting but not showing it.

"I'm not a secretive person."

Wayne

"Hmm... well, yes," Wayne said, "I'll let you know how this goes."

He moved towards the door again.

Christian

"Good luck," Christian murmured, sitting back onto the bed again.

He picked up his book and pen, picking up where he'd left off his latest drawing.

Wayne

Wayne made no reply as he left the room, wondering at the whole incident. Once he had gotten his people onto this, he would talk to the good doctor about Christian, and his future privlages.
