Christian made his way to the common room, still feeling more than a little out of place. No one since Drew had talked to him unless they'd had to, and the kids were still rushing to get out of his way when they saw him approach.
He could hear the music from well down the corridor, and smiled a little when he recognised a song.
When he came to the door, he stood on the other side of the glass to just watch. He could see Drew on the makeshift stage, sitting behind the drum set and giving it his all. Shane - who'd left his art class soon after he'd started - was playing guitar and singing.
Two others who Christian had seen around with Drew made up the rest of the band... a red haired keyboard player and long haired bassist.
He folded his arms as he watched them for a couple of songs without entering the room. In between a few of the songs, he'd seen Drew looking around somewhat nervously before spotting him. They gave each other a nod of recognition, before he smiled a little and began the next song.
Soon afterward, Christian silently stepped away from the door and made his way back to his room.
