Christian didn't bother to look up from his drawing as he heard the door open.
"Mr. Thomas?" came Dr. Morton's voice.
His eyebrows only rose.
"I thought you might like a tour of the facility."
"You're not taking me to one of those class things, are you?" Christian held back rolling his eyes as he finally looked up.
"No, it's Saturday," the Dr. replied, as Christian noticed the two guards waiting by the door, "we will introduce you to the workshops on Monday morning. Your counselling sessions will take place twice a week to start... at the moment it looks like Wednesday and Friday afternoons with Miss Richards."
An eyebrow rose as Christian acknowledged having a female counsellor.
"Shall we?" The doctor indicated the door.
Christian hesitated, staring at the door, before grunting and putting down the pad of paper.
The doctor smiled a little as Christian followed him from the room, and the two guards took up reservations behind.
First stop was what was known as the common room, where quite a few kids and teenagers seemed to be spending their time. The doctor explained what was available and such before moving into the dining room. Christian was shown the layout and given an idea of the menu before they moved on to a long corridor.
As they made their way down, he was shown the different workshop rooms. He was shown how to choose what he wanted to do, and what he would be expected to do. Further down the corridor were the counselling rooms, and he was directed to Miss Richards' room for further reference.
All in all, the tour took barely an hour, and when offered to spend time in the common room and get to know some residents, Christian opted to return to his room.
He took note of the guards, and when inquiring about them realised they each would follow a particular resident if it was thought they may cause or provoke trouble. He was told he would have two, mainly because the reactions from the current residents to his arrival would be unknown.
