"You're sending me to Wisconsin?" Sheldon frowned, looking up from the piece of paper he held.
"I've got some friends over there. Relatives, if you will," Kirk nodded, "I figure you'll be safe. The authorities are closing in on Christian and if they find him, Guffery will soon know about it. Heck, he might already know. I think it's best if you leave Oklahoma altogether."
"And do what?" Sheldon shook his head incredulously.
"Hide out," Kirk shrugged, "it's probably the last place they'd expect you to be. Especially if you already had an identity there. A job, a house... whatever you need."
"Why do you do this for us?" Sheldon asked, leaning back onto a desk, "it's not as if you're getting anything out of it."
Kirk hesitated, then leant his arm on a computer monitor.
"This gives my life meaning," he shrugged, indicating their surroundings.
"You specifically? Christian means a lot to me. I'm willing to do whatever I can to help him, and at the moment that involves keeping both you and Emily safe. There's isn't a 100% guarantee of anything and I hope you remember it, but rest assured I'll have the best people working on it."
Sheldon hesitated, then nodded.
"Right," he said finally.
"You might have to get rid of the dreads though."
"What?" Sheldon scorned, "I am not getting rid of the dreads. I don't care how old I get. If someone sees the back of my neck, I'm gone."
"So we'll get a light manipulator to hide the scar," Kirk shrugged.
"No," Sheldon insisted, "and I agree with the whole new identity thing - don't get me wrong, I see what you're trying to do for me here - but you're not taking the me away from me."
He hesitated for a second.
"At least not yet."
