Valentine's Day Dance

Written by Joy and Michelle

Tracy, Joelle, Dawn and Clark

Theresa was excited. It took a long while for her to deal with stuff, but she was back and better than ever. She finished hanging a crepe paper streamer in the ballroom, and looked around. This would be the best V-Day Dance yet.

Joelle finished doing her hair in the mirror and grinned satisfactory. Matt would go crazy for sure.

Dawn and Clark walked into the ballroom and were very impressed.

"Great job, Tracy, you've outdone yourself."

"Ta, muchly," she answered. "Can I snag your luv for a dance?" she asked.

"I'd be honored," Clark said, and took the Irish girls' hand as they danced to the first song of the night.

Scott and Matt

Scott approached Jean, and held out his hand.

"A dance, my love?" he inquired.

Matt sat in a corner in the back of the room while Queenie decided to fill the room with a light hearted atmosphere, perfect for having fun (but not the dangerous sort).

Joelle and Dan

"Hey babe," Joelle said, apporoaching Matt in the corner. "Wanna dance?"

Geraldine and Micah cautiouly dance together, Gerri trying not to step on his feet.

Dan, however, was enjoying the break from shooting Harry Potter, and enjoying the dance. Though he hadn't completely perfected his blocks, everyone was pretty much in a good mood, so he didn't mind the crowd.

Matt and Whip

"Sure," Matt replied, standing and taking Joelle's hand. "You look stunning tonight."

"Aww, look," said Queenie. "Bonnie and Pendragon are dancing together. How sweet."

Whip chuckled.

"Would you like a dance, Queenie?"

"Sure, why not?"

Kitty

Kitty loved stuff like this. It was so much cooler to hang out at the school as an official X-man than as a student. another year and Theresa could join her.

Geri

After the first hour or so, some bright spark amongst the teachers thought it would be a good idea to start playing games like the limbo. Geri got out on her first turn.

"Hooves are not made for limbo," she said ruefully, looking down at what she had for feet.

Kitty and Dawn

Kitty saw the limbo pole, and bent back, but she couldn't band back far enough, so she phased through the pole.

"I didn't knock it down," she said, winking.

Dawn, however, limboed gracefully. "And I didnt even need to cheat," she teased Kitty.

Keith

Keith went through the limbo. Being short, he was doing rather well, but on this current around, he could tell he was cutting it fine to get through (being a 16 year old guy, he wasn't quite as flexible as the girls). Thus, the size-maniuplating mutant excesized his power to make the bar smaller, and zipped under before gravity could push the bar back down again.

He grinned at everyone.

Terry and Clark

Micah bent backwards, his sonar telling him exactly where the bar was at all times, he just made it under.

Theresa took a turn, and couldn't do it.

"You try it Clark," Micah suggested, so Clark gave it a try, unfortunately the bar busted on his chest, and the game was over.

"Oops," the Kryptonian said.

Matt

The music was turned back on then, and everyone went back to dancing.

Matt swept Joelle back onto the dance floor. He'd been at the school for over a year now, and it had done wonders for his control over his power. He was no longer would about being too close to someone and accidently given them a drug addiction or something.

Dawn and Clark

Clark and Dawn dance together for the final dance of the evening. Then they all hung around to clean up. Definitely a great evening.
