"Mom?" Tru asked, after the silence had become too much to handle. "Did you hear me?"
"Yeah, it's just..." Faith trailed off. "Why?"
Tru shrugged. "I don't know. I feel so trapped right now. I'm so in between. I can't do anything legally, but I feel like inside, I am so much older. Even if I were just Lia's age, Mom, I just... I don't know. I feel restless."
Faith was quiet again. "Honey, you know that I'm all about you making your own decisions, right?"
"Yeah, of course, but Mom, I know it's crazy, I just - "
"No no, I understand," Faith interrupted. "I was like that as a teenager as well, I felt awkward and I just wanted to hurry up and grow up. So... look... I'll talk to Angel and see what we can do."
Tru threw her arms around her mother. "Thank you!"
"It probably won't happen until next year though..."
"That's ok! I just feel better knowing I can finally outgrow this body!"
