"Good news," Derek said, coming into Xander's room and picking up the chart at the end of the bed. "We're releasing you today."
Meredith looked up at the other doctor and smiled faintly, before returning her attention to Xander's bandages.
"You're sick of me already?" Xander joked.
Derek grinned. "A little. We just need you to fill out some forms and then we can let you go."
"Do you have anyone who can pick you up?" Meredith asked.
Xander nodded. "Yeah, yeah I can organise that."
"And, as discussed, you'll be staying in the area for a little while, just for your therapy and everything?" Derek pressed.
Xander nodded again. "Yep. I have found myself a reasonably priced apartment, and I will be checking in regularly."
"Good, good," Meredith smiled, glancing again at Derek.
Derek nodded and handed her the chart. "Well... that's all from me, so I guess I'll see you next week for your check up."
"Thanks, doc," Xander said, watching Derek leave. He turned to Meredith, who was also watching. "You need to marry him."
Meredith spun around to face Xander, her face reddening a little. "What? No! You're crazy. I don't know what you're talking about."
"Mmmhmmm."
