Bobby groggily opened his eyes as the sound of a helicopter in the distance woke him up.
"I don't want to go to school," he groaned, rolling over and knocking into Rebekah.
Rebekah's eyes opened with a start and she rubbed her head, where Bobby had hit it. "Bobby... wait..."
She sat up and rubbed her face, listening for a moment.
"Oh my gosh, everyone up!"
She ran from their shelter and out onto the beach, where she could see a helicopter approaching.
Octavian groaned and slowly sat up before following her out onto the beach. "Oh!"
They frantically started waving them in.
Gambit, Julie and Rogue
Gambit looked out and immediately grabbed up one of his collection of rocks. He selected amongst the biggest, charged one up with kinetic energy and threw it up in the air where it promptly exploded. No where near the helicopter where it might cause damage. He was silly, but he did want to make certain they got their attention. Gambit picked up another rock in preparation.
Julie and Rogue joined in with the wavers.
Bobby and Rebekah
"That must be them," the pilot said, aiming to land on the beach.
Bobby stood with Rebekah and Octavian, waiting for something to happen.
Gambit, Rogue, Julie and Shannon
"They coming in, better pull back," Gambit advised. "Give them space."
Saying this, he grabbed Rogue's hand and drew her back to the tree line. Julie, Shannon, Angelo and Jono followed.
Bobby and Rebekah
The rest of the group moved away from the beach as the helicopter started to land.
Bobby kept a firm grasp on Rebekah's hand, who was shielding her face from the sand.
Julie
The helicopter landed on the beach, and the passenger got out as soon as it was safe. He walked over to the group.
"Thank goodness you've come," Julie exclaimed.
Bobby and Rebekah
"We have another on the way," he said to the group. "They're probably about five minutes away."
Bobby nodded and looked at Octavian.
"Well, put all the ladies on this one," Octavian said. "We can wait five minutes."
Rebekah turned. "Non..."
"No, it's fine, Bek, we'll be right behind you guys," Bobby reassured her, squeezing her hand. "Is everyone cool with that?"
"Yer," Jono agreed.
Angelo nodded. "Si."
Julie, Shannon, Rogue and Gambit
Everyone else signaled their agreement. Julie and Shannon made their way over to the helicopter.
"See you soon," Rogue said, giving Gambit a kiss.
Gambit smiled at her, and Rogue joined the girls.
Bobby
Bobby watched as they took off, then looked up, seeing the other helicopter approach.
"All these powers and we can't even save ourselves," he joked.
Gambit
Gambit chuckled as the second helicopter landed on the beach.
"We survived long enough to get rescued though."
Bobby
"Thankfully," Bobby said.
"Yes, it was getting a bit tense with some of the girls," Octavian noted.
Gambit
"It was?" Gambit asked.
He hadn't noticed. But then, he did have to admit he was rather enamoured with Rogue and paid little attention to the other girls so...
Bobby
Bobby chuckled.
"Yer," Jono said, sounding amused. "I think there was a bit of a Julie issue."
Gambit
"Ahh," Gambit mused. "I think I recall Rogue mentioning something about that."
He started heading over to the helicopter with the others.
Bobby
"Long awkward story," was all Bobby said, before boarding the helicopter.
"Very awkward," Octavian added, following behind.
Jono shrugged slightly and let Gambit go ahead of him.
Gambit
Gambit pulled himself inside and sat down on one of the far seats.
"I see."
The noise of the helicopter was making it just a tad difficult to have a conversation.
Bobby
Once they were all inside and buckled up, they took off, heading for their nearest port.
Which turned out to be not so far from where they'd crashed, reinforcing the pathetic notion that they had all of those powers, but couldn't save themselves.
Rogue
The girls were waiting for them when they arrived.
"Hey!" Rogue greeted cheerfully. "Fancy meeting you here."
Bobby and Rebekah
Bobby quickly excused himself to go call Gabriella, while Octavian immediately spotted Demetria and went to greet hsi twin.
Rebekah also went over to Demetria.
Julie
"They're going to fly us to England, like in the original plan," Julie observed. "Of course, we're not going to have nearly so much time over there like we planned before we have to leave again..."
Bobby and Rebekah
Bobby finished his call and went over to give Dem a hug, then the quartet came over to the rest of the group.
"Oh darlings!" Demetria greeted. "I'm sorry that Rebekah and I planned this and put you on that terrible flight!"
Rogue and Gambit
"It was hardly your fault, Dem," Rogue pointed out. "I don't think any of us had precognition."
"Plenty of other powers though," Gambit mused. "We survived."
Bobby and Rebekah
"Quite," Demetria replied, moving her long blonde hair away from her eyes. "Well, in any case, it is only a short flight over to the original destination anyhow."
Bobby nodded. "And we're all so eager to get on a plane again."
Octavian grinned as Demetria pouted.
"Oh anything for you, of course, sweet Dem," Bobby said, giving an exaggerated bow.
Rebekah stifled a giggle. "At least we can all catch up, even if it will be for a shorter time."
"Yeah," Bobby groaned. "Some of us have to go back to school or work or both."
"Ah," Octavian said, wrinkling his nose. "Yes, work. I wonder what that is like..."
Demetria hit her brother lightly on the arm. "If we're cut off, sooner or later we are going to have to work."
"Good point, old mum."
"Don't call me that, Octavian!"
Shannon
"Excuse me," interupted a young woman from the airline. "The flight to London is ready for you to board."
"Thank you," Shannon said.
Bobby and Rebekah
"Ass-some," Bobby put in, taking Bek's hand and heading for the flight.
Jono and Angelo followed behind, with Demetria and Octavian behind them, giggling and whispering together.
Gambit, Rogue, Julie and Shannon
Gambit and Rogue stepped onto the plane with Julie and Shannon close behind.
"May the pilot not have a heart attack this time," Gambit said solomnly.
Bobby and Rebekah
"Thanks for mentioning that," Angelo said, rolling his eyes slightly.
"Oh you're going to love what we have planned," Demetria said excitedly to Bobby.
"Does it involve boobs?" he asked, grinning cheekily.
"Bobby!" Rebekah mock scolded.
Gambit and Rogue
Gambit grinned at Angelo.
"One track mind," Rogue said, shaking her head at Bobby.
Bobby and Rebekah
"They're very important," Bobby intoned solemnly, and Octavian nodded his agreement.
"Have you changed the house much?" Rebekah asked.
"Not really, since you were last there," Dem answered. "But a bit since Tavvie's been there. Tell me about the situation with... you know."
Rebekah and Demetria eagerly whispered to each other.
Julie
Shortly the plane took off. The flight was relatively short and they were soon landing properly at the airport.
"We're alive!" Angeleo cheered as he stepped off the plane.
"Yes, yes we are," Julie agreed.
Bobby and Rebekah
"I have to ring everyone and brag," Bobby said, immediately going for him phone.
Rebekah laughed and linked arms with Dem.
"Ah," Demetria purred as the limo rolled up. "Here comes our ride."
Julie and Rogue
"Snazzy," Julie nodded.
"Ooh la la," said Rogue.
Bobby and Rebekah
The group clambered into the car and before long, they were off to their original destination with a little less time but a lot more spirit to catch up.
