Chartered Flight

Written by Michelle and Nessa

Julie, Rogue, Gambit and Shannon

"You sure this is the place?" Rogue asked.

"Sure," Gambit replied. "We're probably just early."

"Hmm," Rogue frowned as she looked around the waiting area. "Oh! Wait! Is that Shannon?"

Gambit looked over but clearly he didn't look in the right direction as the next thing he knew, Rogue and Shannon were giving each other a hug.

"This is going to be awesome," Rogue grinned at her.

"Yes," Shannon agreed.

"Briar's at the mansion?"

"I felt she was a little young."

"And there was no way I was bringing all six of mine," Julie said cheerfully, joining them. "There's a word for that: mayhem."

Rogue chuckled.

"Hey," she said. "How you doing?"

Julie shrugged.

"I'd rather not talk about it."

Bobby and Rebekah

"Oh ho ho, dear boy!" Octavian laughed, as he came up in between Bobby and Rebekah, arms around both.

The trio were giggling hysterically.

"Oh good," Rebekah said. "Everyone's arriving. Hello guys!"

Julie and Rogue

Julie gritted her teeth and refused to look in Bobby and Octavian's direction.

"Bek!" Rogue exclaimed. "It's been forever! How are you?"

She zipped over to give her a hug.

Rebekah and Bobby

Rebekah hugged Rogue back. "I'm good, how are you?"

Jono and Angelo arrived a few moments later, and more greetings were shared.

"Dude," Bobby said to Tav. "I don't think so."

"She was very much into me," Octavian protested.

"No way," Bobby argued playfully. "I'm sorry, but Gab, she has taste. And so does Shayne, before you even mention it."

"Now Shayne, she's a challenge," Octavian told him. "Lennon, a bigger one. Oh yes, a bigger one."

Bobby rolled his eyes. "You'll never turn him."

"You don't know that. Got you," Octavian pointed out.

"I was curious," Bobby reminded him. "Roguey!"

Rogue, Julie and Shannon

"Bobby!" Rogue giggled, then turned back to Rebekah. "Didja hear Gambit and I got engaged?"

"Wait," Julie joked. "You mean there's people you haven't told yet?"

Rogue poked her tongue out at her. Shannon smiled.

Gambit's eyes flickered over to Jono for a moment, then back to Rogue.

Bobby and Rebekah

"Oh cool, congrats!" Bobby said to Rogue and Gambit, then turned back to Tav.

"Come on," Octavian spoke up. "Let's go get the best seats."

Rebekah and Jono exchanged a short awkward greeting, before Jono and Angelo scarpered for the plane behind Bobby and Tav.

"Congratulations," Rebekah said softly. "Truly. I apologise for that... Jon and I... we 'ave been awkward since the break up."

Rogue, Julie, Shannon and Gambit

"Break ups are awkward," Rogue nodded. "And thanks."

Julie took a deep breath, watching Bobby go past.

"After you," she said to Shannon.

Shannon smiled. Gambit reached out for Rogue's hand and they got on the plane.

Bobby and Rebekah

"Bek!" Octavian called out.

"Come sit with the cool kids!" Bobby joined in.

Rebekah laughed and joined them, not without some awkwardness with Jono, who was also sitting with them.

"So, darling girl, what have you and my lovely twin got planned for us?" Octavian asked, leaning back and putting his legs up on Bobby's lap.

"Oh, you know," Rebekah said innocently. "This and that. Just a catch up."

"Hmmm, not sure if I believe that, do you, Ange?" Jono half joked. "It's when she looks the most innocent that she's plottin' sumthin'."

"Moi?" Rebekah feigned shock. "Never!"

"Everybody seated for take off," the pilot said over the intercom.

Shannon, Rogue and Gambit

Shannon clipped the seatbelt in place and looked out the window in curiousity. She'd never been on a plane before was was most interested in the flight ahead.

"Well, I bet whatever you and Dem do have planned it's going to be fun," Rogue said.

Gambit put on his poker face. Just so long as Dem didn't have any unpleasant ideas. He wasn't as convinced as Rogue that the whole cheating matter was completely under the bridge as far as Dem was concerned.

Bobby and Rebekah

"Simply smashing!" Octavian called, as they started down the runway.

Bobby looked out the window and grinned. "Hey, are Mordred and Gwen coming?"

"Non," Rebekah answered. "Cancelled last minute. The twins suddenly got sick and they didn't feel right about leaving them."

"But Mordred's a teleporter," Octavian pointed out.

"Still a parent though," Rebekah laughed.

"Yer," Jono added. "Jolie is under the very watchful eye of Meg at the Mansion, and under the protection of Logan."

"The only reason the two of you agreed to come on this trip without her, si?" Angelo asked.

"Naturally," Rebekah replied.

"Ah, little darling Jolie," Octavian said, resting his head on Bek's shoulder. "Have I told you how impressive she is? Or rather, how impressive her conception is?"

Rebekah hit Octavian over the back of the head lightly.

Julie and Shannon

Julie stiffened at the discussion. He could refer to Bek's daughter as "little darling Jolie", yet he couldn't even bring himself to say Tinga's name?

"Briar's with Meg too," Shannon commented.

Julie said nothing. She didn't trust herself to say anything.

Rebekah and Bobby

"So, however will we all survive without our kids?" Jono asked.

"I'm barely surviving now," Rebekah put in. "But, it won't be for long."

"If you like," Octavian offered. "We can concieve a child together and somehow weave a portal to another dimension, where it's accelerated time, come back a few hours later when you've given birth and we can play happy families!"

"What a crap plan," Bobby said, shaking his head. "Firstly, why would Bek ever sleep with you?"

"Because she has fallen under my spell," Octavian answered.

Rebekah pretended to swoon.

Julie, Shannon and Rogue

Julie gritted her teeth and grabbed hold of the arms of her chairs so tightly her knuckles turned white. Shannon, whom she was sitting next to, noticed and gave her a puzzled look.

"I see," Rogue said mischeviously. "So you have to resort to magic to get Bek to sleep with you, huh? Because in reality she has better taste than that?"

Bobby and Rebekah

Octavian grinned. "No, because in reality, she's slept with Bobby and Jono. So her taste is somewhat questionable."

"Hey!" Bobby and Rebekah both called out.

"Hey!" Jono said at the same time.

Octavian looked at Bobby for a second, contemplating saying something rude, but then dismissed it.

Meanwhile, the plane had hit some turbulence.

Rogue, Shannon and Gambit

"As I said," Rogue grinned. "Better taste than that."

Shannon looked around.

"Is that normal?" she asked, feeling her ears pop.

"I doubt it's anything to worry about," Gambit replied to reassure her. "Flights get turbulance occasionally, and more often than not nothing comes of it."

Bobby and Rebekah

"Ok, folks," the pilot's voice crackled over the speakers. "We're going to need you to stay in your seats and fasten your seatbelts, just until we ride this bumpy part out."

Bobby clicked his seatbelt together and peered out the window.

"It's ok," Rebekah said, softly sending soothing waves through everyone.

"Ah," Octavian leaned back in his seat, and held the armrest lightly.

The plane jerked and dipped slightly.

Shannon, Rogue and Gambit

Shannon looked out the window, eyes wide and wondering.

"Ha ha, like a rollercoaster," Rogue said nervously.

"It'll be over soon," Gambit reassured her.

Bobby and Rebekah

Bobby glanced over at Julie and made a split second decision.

He got up quickly, stumbled over to the seat next to her, and sat down, buckling himself in and taking her hand gently.

Just because they were on a break didn't mean he didn't care about her.

Rebekah held onto Octavian's hand tightly, both making scared faces as the plane dipped again.

Julie, Rogue and Gambit

Julie glanced over at Bobby and would have smiled if it weren't for all the tubulance. She gave his hand a squeeze as the plane felt like it fell a million feet and then abruptly lifted itself again.

Rogue latched onto Gambit (who was no longer quite as calm - hadn't dealt with turbulance quite this bad before).

Rebekah and Bobby

Rebekah had been keeping a hold on everyones emotions on the plane, when suddenly, one flickered out.

"Bek, you feel that?" Jono asked.

"Oui," Rebekah replied. "We lost someone."

"Yeah, there's one less mind on this plane... the pilot! Sh*t!" Jono cursed.

And sure enough, the plane started to fall further.

"Can anyone fly?" Bobby shouted frantically.

Shannon, Rogue and Gambit

"No," Shannon replied.

Rogue did a mental search of her personalities but found that not even her most recent one, Ms Marvel, knew how to fly a plane. But then, Ms Marvel never had to - she could fly.

Wait... she also had super strength...

An idea popped into her mind, although she had no real idea if she could pull it off. Maybe if she used the atom manipulation she got from Calvin, she could slip through the plane to the bottom and carry it? Maybe? She could at least give it a soft landing...

Sticking out her tongue in concentration, Rogue tried to slip through the floor, and swore. It wasn't working! She couldn't activate her atom manipulation at all!

Gambit patted Rogue's back at her swearing, thinking it was their imminent crash that had set her off.

Bobby and Rebekah

Bobby let go of Julie's hand and got out of the seat. He looked out the window and took a deep breath.

"Jono, I'm going to need you."

"Ok, guv... but what are ya gonna do?"

"When we get close enough to the ground, I need you to burn the door open."

"WHAT?!" Rebekah yelled.

"Trust me!" Bobby yelled back.

Julie and Gambit

Julie looked up at Bobby in wonder. What was he going to do?

Gambit wasn't completely sure he wanted to trust Bobby with his life, but evidently he had no choice. Not like he had any better ideas... actually he didn't have any ideas.

Bobby

"Bobby, I don't know what you're planning, but it better be good!" Octavian yelled worriedly. "It better work!"

"That's what I'm hoping," Bobby muttered to himself. He wasn't yet sure of his abilities in this area, he'd only practiced with smaller objects with Hank.

Jono looked at Angelo. "Ange, you're going to have to hold us in, can you do that?"

"Si," Angelo replied, somewhat nervously. He let himself stretch around the main entranceway, blocking where the plane would split.

Bobby chewed his lip as he watched the plane descend, and when it was close enough to the water... "Jono, NOW!"

Jono unwrapped his bandages and let the psi fire burn through the door, controlling it enough to disappear when the job was done.

Julie, Rogue, Gambit and Shannon

Julie heard a scream as the plane fell and belatedly realised it was her. Gambit and Rogue clung together for dear life.

Shannon watched carefully, head tilted to the side, her terror giving way to fascination as her power of opposites kicked in.

Bobby and Rebekah

"Wotever you have planned, I'd do it now!" Jono shouted.

Bobby focused all of his energy and started to manipulate the moisture in the air, freezing it and bringing the water below to freezing point. Effectively, he was freezing the plane mid air, connected by the frozen moisture in the air and by the water. He breathed heavily, the effort hurting him slightly as he reached his successful goal.

They'd stopped mid dive, 1 metre from the frozen surface of the water.

"Ok," Bobby panted. "Everyone out. The water is frozen and I'll keep it frozen until you reach land. Just... be quick."

Rebekah nodded nervously and unfastened her seatbelt. Octavian took her hand as Angelo unwound himself from the doorway and they started to descend.

"How will you get out?" Octavian asked.

"I'll be fine," Bobby replied in a strained voice. "Just go."

Julie, Shannon, Gambit and Rogue

Julie unbuckled her seat belt and slipped past Bobby, giving him an anxious look on the way. Shannon followed.

Gambit and Rogue quickly pulled down the emergancy raft and brought it out with them .

Rebekah and Bobby

Octavian jumped onto the ice and helped Rebekah down. Angelo and Jono followed suit.

"We all here?" Angelo asked, as the others appeared.

"Everyone except Bobby," Rebekah said worriedly.

"Just go!" he called from inside. "I'll be right behind you."

Gambit, Rogue, Shannon and Julie

Gambit inflated the raft on the edge of the ice, the helped Rogue in.

"It should be big enough for all of us," Gambit commented.

Rogue moved to the other side of the raft. Shannon and Julie followed suit.

Rebekah and Bobby

Rebekah climbed into the raft, before Jono, Angelo and Octavian followed her.

"What about Bobby?" Octavian asked.

"I don't know," Rebekah fretted. "He said he'll be fine..."

"You gonna be alright, mate?" Jono asked.

"Yeah, I can freeze the water and catch up," Bobby thought back.

"He's gonna catch up," Jono informed them.

Julie, Rogue and Gambit

Julie bit her bottom lip. Hard.

"We'd better move away a bit," said Gambit. "We don't want to get caught when the plane goes down."

"But... Bobby..." Rogue began tentatively.

"Will have risked his life for nothing if we still drown," Gambit said determindly. "Come on."

He began pushing the raft away from the iced plane. He hoped Bobby would be alright.

Bobby and Rebekah

When Bobby was certain they were far enough away and enough time had passed for him to be able to catch up, he took a deep breath and shrugged slightly.

"Hope this works."

And with that, he released his control of the plane and it went crashing down through the water.

~*~*~*~

"Oh my Gosh!" Rebekah exclaimed, watching the plane in the distance. "Did he get out, did... he... is he alright?"

Octavian was paler than usual and holding onto Bek's hand. "Try talking to him... someone. A telepath."

"Bobby, mate? You 'ere?" Jono sent out.

Nothing.

"Bobby?!"

Rogue, Julie and Shannon

"Jono?" Rogue inquired nervously.

"Bobby! Bobby!" Julie cried and probably would have dived off the raft if Shannon hadn't held ber back (she was surprisingly strong for her size). "Bobby!"

Rebekah

"He's gone." Jono looked anxiously over his shoulder at the sinking plane.

"Non," Rebekah said, biting her lip. "He can't be gone. He can freeze the water..."

Julie and Gambit

"Bobby!" Julie wailed.

"Let's wait a few minutes," Gambit suggested. "Even in the best case scenario it would take a while to get out of that mess."

"Bobby!"

He wished Julie would shut up.

Rebekah

"Gotcha," Jono said, catching Gambit's thought. He mentally disabled Julie's speech.

"He'll be fine," Octavian reassured himself more than anyone else. "He's just underwater, all frozen and is going to meet us at any moent."

Rebekah held onto Octavian's hand so tightly that her hand turned white.

Angelo, meanwhile, had spotted land.

Julie, Gambit and Rogue

Julie, finding her voice had gone, promptly burst into a round of silent tears. Gambit sent a grateful nod to Jono.

Rogue looked anxiously out across the water for any sign of Bobby.

Rebekah

Angelo was taking the lead, rowing the raft in the direction of the land he could see.

"There's no point in fearing the worst," Rebekah said. "When we're safe, we'll worry, but now..."

Gambit, Julie and Shannon

Gambit gave Angelo a hand in rowing.

Julie's eyes widened when she realised they were moving away, and she made another attempt to dive in. Shannon yanked her back again as if it required no effort at all.

"And how exactly were you planning on rescuing a block of ice from an ocean of water?" Shannon demanded of her. "If Bobby cannot rescue himself, then no one can."

Julie stared at her, then burst into another round of sobs, crying into Shannon's shoulder.

Rebekah

"He's probably just about to catch up," Octavian repeated.

Angelo was rowing furiously, trying to keep his mind off what had happened.

Rebekah was shivering violently in shock, and Jono wrapped an arm around her, somewhat awkwardly.

Gambit, Rogue, Julie and Shannon

It took some effort on behalf of Gambit and Angelo, but they eventually pulled up on a sandy beach. The waves helped to push them the final stretch.

Rogue looked around in awe.

"I wonder where we are."

Julie refused to look and kept sniffling into Shannon's shoulder.

Rebekah

"This is somewhat reminiscent of our crash with Captain Jack," Octavian observed. "We should probably try and build soe sort of shelter and start a fire."

"Righto, I'll do that bit," Jono announced, gathering wood and organising it in a pile before lighting it with his psi fire.

Rebekah helped Shannon with Julie.

Gambit, Rogue, Shannon and Julie

"Okay, lets see if we can find anything to make a shelter out of," Gambit said. "And food, and fresh water."

Rogue nodded and followed him into the scrub.

Shannon sat by Julie as she sat on the edge of the shore and looked out in the direction they had come. The view was a little blurry from all her tears.

"Thank you," Shannon said softly to Rebekah.

Rebekah

"Jon, if you would?" Rebekah asked softly.

Jono nodded and released Julie's speech again, going off to help the others make a shelter.

"Julie? He's probably on his way now," Rebekah said soothingly. "Maybe he's uncontactable when he's ice."

Julie and Shannon

"M-m-maybe," Julie stammered.

Shannon patted her on the back.

Rebekah

Rebekah didn't want to admit that she was rapidly giving up hope on the search for Bobby.

"He's probably just worn out and can't answer at the moment."

Julie, Rogue and Gambit

"I... I hope, hope you're right," Julie sniffed. "I know we were having problems, but I..."

Another round of tears ensured.

Meanwhile, Rogue helped the boys bring back deadwood and follage for the purpose of constructing their shelter on the beach.

"It'll probably be very rough," Gambit observed. "But it should do at least for tonight. We'll need to find fresh water as a matter of urgency though, unless one of us has some power to filter sea water that we don't know about."

Bobby and Rebekah

An iced figure appeared on the beach, slowly turning into human form, dripping wet.

It was Bobby.

"Bobby!" Rebekah called.

He waved weakly and then sat down.

Julie

"Bobby?" Julie repeated.

She looked up slowly.

"Bobby!" she cried and ran over to him, arms outstretched. "You're alive!"

Bobby and Rebekah

"No," Bobby coughed. "Don't. Just... let me be for a moment."

Rebekah ran over to grab Julie to stop her.

Octavian noticed Bobby and came over, helping the other man to the fire.

"It's ok," Bobby managed. "I don't really feel the cold anymore."

Julie, Shannon and Rogue

Julie scowlled at them and wenched herself free. Octavian was allowed to touch him, but she wasn't?

Shannon touched her back lightly in sympathy, but Julie refused to be comforted.

Rogue dumped another load of shelter building material and spotted Bobby by the fire.

"Bobby?" she inquired, amazed, and walked over to the fire. "Hey, you made it!"

Bobby and Rebekah

"Yeah," Bobby said hoarsely. "I just found out how far my mutation extends."

Rebekah went to sit by Octavian and Bobby.

"What do you mean?" Tav questioned.

"I can travel through water... as water," Bobby replied.

Rogue and Julie

"You can do what now?" Rogue asked, stunned.

"Wow," Julie gasped, wide-eyed.

Bobby

"Something I'll have to talk over with Hank, I think," Bobby said, breathing normally again. He flopped down in the sand tiredly.

"Well, old chap, that seems to be a highlight of our ill-fated trip," Octavian said, grinning. "We found out how much of a freak you really are."

Bobby laughed. "Well, aren't all mutants?"

Rogue

Rogue chuckled.

"Yeah, but some are freakier than others," she grinned at Bobby.

Bobby and Rebekah

"The world hates us filthy mutants!" Octavian cried dramatically. "So much so, they invented a virus to wipe us out!"

"Ah, Legacy," Bobby said in a tone, as equally dramatic as Octavian's. "May it not come back! May I never die from a mutant hating virus!"

Rebekah laughed and shook her head lightly. "It's hard for humans to understand that we were not all born. Sometimes, it just happens, it depends on the situations."

"Ah so true, my girl, so true," Tav grinned, and then he added jokingly, "sometimes those humans turn our evil too!"

"I wonder if Hitler was a mutant or actually human?" Bobby mused.

Rogue and Julie

"Human," Rogue decided. "He was a Jew, and he persecuted the Jews. He praised up the blonde and blue eyed, and he was anything but."

"And he hated handicaped but he only had one testicle," Julie giggled.

"Right, but as he never made public proclamations about how mutants were evil, then he must have been human," Rogue nodded.

"By that logic, he must have also been a closest homosexual," Julie mused.

Bobby and Rebekah

"And he slept with his niece," Bobby pointed out.

"How is it that you know that?" Rebekah asked.

"I remember that lesson well... Storm was wearing a low cut top. Hottest. Day. Ever."

"Secret fantasy?" Octavian asked, grinning.

"Well, hardly a secret. Secret fantasy will remain a secret."

Julie and Rogue

"Aww," pouted Julie.

"It's Julie's secret fantasy to know Bobby's secret fantasy?" Rogue suggested.

"I have lots of fantasties, and none of them are secret."

Bobby and Rebekah

"Alright, shelter's done," Jono announced.

"Great," Octavian said brightly, helping Bobby to his feet. "Come on, let's go look for fish or whatever it is we do. How did we do this last time?"

Bobby shrugged. "You were fainting all over the place, and I was hot from lack of powers."

Rebekah laughed. "I remember that."

"Ok, come on, awesome kids," Bobby said, linking arms with Octavian and Rebekah. "Let's go find food and stuff."

Rogue, Julie, Shannon and Gambit

Rogue tentatively stepped up into the air, and discovered that the powers she had absorbed from Ms Marvel hadn't left her the way Calvin's had.

"I'll go scout the island overhead," she said. "See if I can see any sourse of fresh water or at least see how big this place is."

Without another word, she flew off.

"Okay, that's cool," Julie observed.

"I will stay here and keep the fire going," Shannon said, thinking that maintaining a presense on the beach might help to keep everyone from getting lost.

"Right," said Gambit.

He gave a nod and headed back into the bush with the others to look for food.

Bobby and Rebekah

Octavian was leading the way with Bobby and Rebekah, darting off so no one could follow them.

"Come on," he said. "Give Bobby a break from Julie."

"It's alright," Bobby replied. "We're not fighting."

"Octavian," Rebekah sighed, in a voice that sounded like they'd had that conversation a million times. "Zis trip really wasn't meant to be like zis. And not just the crash, I mean, zat was definitely not meant to happen. But it was meant to be fun."

"We'll make our own fun, lovely girl," Octavian promised. "I swear."

Julie and Gambit

Julie contemplated following Bobby, but realised the decision had been taken out of her hands when she realised she had no idea what direction they had taken, and went with Jono, Angelo and Gambit instead.

"What I would give right now for a book of plants," Angelo said. "Or internet access. I wonder how many food sources we're passing and not knowing it."

"If we had internet access, getting off this island would be all so much easier," Gambit observed.

"Darn, why couldn't the Professor from Gilligan's Island have been ship wrecked with us?" Julie asked. "If he can build a radio out of coconuts..."

Bobby and Rebekah

"Hey, do you think Rogue has some sort of knowledge about this stuff? Like one of the people she has absorbed might know?" Bobby thought out loud.

"Brilliant thought, dear boy, Rebekah dear, if you would?" Octavian bowed slightly.

Rebekah laughed and then contacted Rogue. "Hey Rogue, we were just wondering if you had absorbed someone who might know about plants and herbs and any possible food sources?"

"I could probably freeze a portion of water and get the fish that way?" Bobby suggested.

Rogue

Contact with Rebekah momentarily startled Rogue. She caught herself quickly though, and hovered in mid air.

"I'll just check," she said aloud, knowing Rebekah would catch the words in her mind as she spoke them. "I wouldn't get your hopes up though, details like that tend to get lost the quieter the mind is."

She did a search of her voices and found to her surprise that her loudest one, Ms Marvel, actually had some knowledge of flaura and forna beyond obvious things like tomatoes. She focused on some of the images of the edible plants she picked up.

Rebekah and Bobby

"Thank you," Rebekah said to Rogue, then opened a line with Jono. "Jon, here."

"Thanks Bek." Jono turned to the others. "Right, I know what we're looking for, here's a mental picture."

Bobby nodded at Bek as he received the picture from her. "Righto then."

Gambit and Julie

Gambit smiled in quiet pride and picked up some rocks from the ground.

"Interesting," Julie mused before giving Gambit a curious look.

"Don't have my playing cards."

"Ooookay..."

"We are stranded on an unknown island," Gambit pointed out. "We don't know what might be out there."

"So... you're going to throw rocks at the vicious attacking wild cat?"

"Kinetically charged rocks."

Julie couldn't help herself, and started laughing.

Bobby and Rebekah

Bobby, Octavian and Rebekah were traisping through the bushes, collecting whatever they had been shown were edible, when they ran out of holding space and decided to head back to the beach.

Also, so Bobby could test his freezing fish theory.

"I am so not sleeping near you, Bobby," Rebekah piped up. "You're always so cold."

"Tell me about it," Octavian agreed. "How do you handle it?"

"Eh, I'm used to it. The perks are when it's really cold, I don't really notice, and when it's really hot, I also don't notice," Bobby pointed out. "So I'm always kinda good for temperature changes."

"Jono could probably keep us warm with the psi-fire," Rebekah mused.

"Or we could have an orgy," Octavian suggested. "Although, I don't think some of our party would agree to that. And I personally don't want to sleep with certain members for fear of getting them pregnant."

Angelo

"Oh hello," said Angelo. "I don't need any telepathically transmitted images to know bananas when I see them."

Reshaping his body, Angelo raised himself up to pull the bananas off the tree.

Bobby and Rebekah

Meanwhile, Bobby, Octavian and Rebekah had come back to the beach. Bek went to tend to the fire and keeping their food unsandy somehow, and Bobby and Octavian went to test the fish freezing theory.

Shannon

"Welcome back," Shannon said, looking up as the three returned. "Found anything?"

It had been somewhat boring on the beach, keeping the fire alight while waiting for the return of her friends.

Rebekah and Bobby

"A little bit of fruit," Rebekah said, sitting down beside her. "Bobby is testing a theory to see if he can freeze some fish."

And just as she said that, Bobby was, indeed, freezing fish.

Shannon and Rogue

Shannon nodded as Rogue flew back down to the beach.

"You know, if I had just flown in the other direction I would have spotted the stream sooner," Rogue observed. "Two beaches that way."

Rebekah and Bobby

"I guess in looking on the bright side, at least most of us have fairly useful powers for zis sort of situation," Rebekah said brightly.

"Fish!" Bobby exclaimed triumphantly, and he and Octavian high fived.

Shannon, Rogue, Julie and Gambit

"This is true," Shannon nodded.

"Awesome," Rogue cheered the boys.

It was at that moment that Julie, Gambit, Angelo and Jono returned, bananas in tow.

Rebekah and Bobby

Rebekah and Jono smiled lightly at each other.

Bobby and Octavian returned to the party, Bobby holding a block of ice with several fish frozen inside.

Gambit

"Fish and bananas," Angelo said dryly. "Now there's a meal we won't get sick of."

"Find us some more food, then we'll see what we can do to soothe your culinary palete," Gambit responded.

"Hey, I found the bananas."

Rebekah and Bobby

"Oh," Rebekah said suddenly. "I hope Jolie will be alright."

Jono put his arm around her. "I'm sure she'll be fine." Still, he looked concerned.

Octavian was whispering something to Bobby that was probably not relevant at all.

Julie

The sun began to set and a cold breeze blew across the beach.

"So, how long before you suppose they start looking for us?" Julie asked, thinking of her own children.

Bobby and Rebekah

"Not long," Octavian said cheerfully. "I dare say, darling Dem would've alerted someone when we didn't show up on time."

"Oh yeah," Bobby said. "Hey, does anyone have the range to call for like... Mordred or someone?"

Rebekah shook her head. "Non."

Jono shook his head also. "I tired already."

Rogue and Gambit

"And I couldn't see any settlements on this island when I flew over either," Rogue added.

"So it's definitely an island?" asked Gambit.

"Yeah. And not a very big one at that."

Bobby and Rebekah

"Oh crap!" Bobby suddenley exclaimed. "I was meant to call Gab when we landed."

"Mmm, that girl is all sorts of cute and sexy," Octavian said, nodding. "I'll give you 1 month to get to it. If you haven't, then I will."

Rebekah shook her head slightly. "We're stuck and this is what Tav is thinking about."

Jono looked up at the sky. "Well, it is Tav. Also, it's getting kinda dark."

Julie, Rogue and Gambit

Julie's eyes narrowed, but she turned her head away so no one could see.

"Mmm, fish smell nice," Rogue said, breathing in the smell of the fish cooking.

"Now we just need some lemon and tartare sause," Gambit mused.

Rebekah and Bobby

"If only we'd thought to pack condiments," Rebekah smiled. She settled closer to the fire.

"Seriously, I would advise you to get to Gab," Octavian continued to Bobby. "She is a nice one."

Bobby laughed. "Yeah, but she's like one of my best friends. She's awesome. Cannot wait for my 21st, we have something hilarious cooked up."

Octavian grinned. "So do Lennon, Shayne and I."

End as written by Michelle

Before long night fell. The castaways retired to their shelter, which really only took off the brunt of the wind that blew across the beach. Many slept close together for body heat after the fire went out, and their sleep was punctuated by the sounds of the wind and waves, and the local nocternal wildlife.
