"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join this man and this woman in Holy Matrimony."
Oliver smiled at Yvette. The day was finally here, and she looked beautiful.
Libby tried not to fidget with the bonquet of flowers that she held but these wedding ceremonies were sooooo boring. And the dress sucked. How Yvette managed to talk her into it... She stifled a sigh. If she ever got married she was definitely getting married in her pajamas.
Rowena wiped away a tear. Her boy was getting married.
Absently, Tanya put her hand in Leroy's, who was momentarily suprised by the affectionate gesture. But then realised he was at a wedding and women did get rather funny at these events.
Hunter, Ivan and Duke shifted from foot to foot and tried not to look to bored - they were groomsmen after all! Hunter felt rather nervous about his responsibility of the rings.
Tate sat smiling near the back, enjoying the ceremony.
Miette attention was caught by a movement at the back of the church. A man entered, looking a little shaky on his feet although he was dressed for the occasion. She frowned: Dad?
She tried to turn her attention back to the ceremony, but couldn't help looking in his direction. Their Dad was here? How'd he know? Leroy said he was in a coma after his success in cleaning up Kansas (why he would do such a thing was a complete mystery, but still).
"You may now kiss the bride."
Oliver grinned at Yvette, but kissed her gently and without any mischeif that his expression may have suggested.
"May I present, Mr and Mrs Braddock."
There was applause and the music played as they walked back down the aisle, arm in arm. As Olver and Yvette neared the end of the church, Oliver's eyes fell on Sam's.
"Dad?"
Sam gave a slight nod and smiled uncertainly.
"Congratulations."
"Th-thank you."
There was an awkward pause, and abruptly Oliver let go of Yvette and gave his father a hug. Sam was completely caught unawares and didn't know how to react at first, but eventually hugged back.
"I know Mum'll want to see you," Oliver said.
Sam nodded.
"You go on," he said. "Talk later."
Oliver nodded back, and retook Yvette's arm. he smiled at her again, and Yvette saw a sparkle in his eye she hadn't realised had been missing. She smiled back and they left the church.
