Fire!

Written by Michelle

Saku and Trina

Trina looked around the room, eyebrows raised.

"What's with all the candles?" she asked.

"Oh them? Oh they're just there so I can show off," Saku said.

With a wave of his hand, all the candles were lit. Trina smirked.

"Cool," she said. "But can you do this?"

She concentrated for a moment, then the candle flames all took on the shape of graceful ballerinas.

"Probably," Saku teased her, and led her to the table.

Trina poked her tongue out at him, but any smart remark she would have made was halted when Saku lifted the cloth off the table to reveal their hot dinenr underneath.

"You went all out, huh?" she mused.

"You're worth it," Saku replied.

"Oh phsaw. You probably say that to all the girls."

"No, actually," Saku replied. "Just you."

Trina snorted in disbelief as she sat down.

"Seriously," Saku insisted as he too sat down. "I usually get bored after the first date. Never more than two."

"Should I be flattered that this is our fourth then?" Trina asked, highly amused.

"Yes," Saku nodded. "It means you're a highly captivating woman and I can't stop thinking about you."

"Aww. So sweet."

Trina wouldn't show it, but she was secretly pleased.

"So, you can creat fire huh?" Trina went on, changing the subject. "That's cool. I can't do that, just manipulate."

Saku nodded.

"Yeah, that's typical with pyrokinetics. I'm fire magic though, so the same rules don't apply," he tilted his head to the side and considered for a moment. "Hmm... I think I have a present for you."

"Oh?"

Saku rattled off a couple of words Trina couldn't understand and waved his hand. Trina felt a burning inside of her.

"What did you do?" she asked.

"You can create fire now."

"I can?"

"Try it."

Trina looked at him sceptically, then lifted her hand. Abruptly a flame started dancing on her palm.

"Hey, awesome!" she exclaimed.

Saku grinned at her.

"Thought you'd like it."

Dinner went well. The usual charming, smart and snide remarks were passed between the two, and the end of the evening came sooner than the two would have hoped.

"It's been nice," Trina said. "I really enjoyed tonight."

"So did I," Saku replied.

He leant forward to kiss her, wondering if she would actually let him this time. She did and as their lips met a wall of fire encircled them. The flames licked at them, but couldn't hurt them (although the heat was rather intense... both kinds). As Saku and Trina parted, the fire died down rather forlornly.

"That was..." Trina shook her head.

Saku kissed her forehead.

"Walk you home?"

"Sure."
