History Lessons

Written by Nessa

Liam and Tru

Liam jumped slightly as he heard the door open. Ah, his student had arrived. He looked up from his notes and over at the door to see... the girl he'd met at the book store.

"Hi," Tru said, going to sit at the desk. She carelessly hung her bag over the back of the chair and she slid onto the seat.

"Hey." Liam's eyes crinkled as he smiled. "Didn't manage to get those History of Film lessons?"

Tru laughed. "No, but if you can make this course interesting, I promise, I won't fall asleep."

"How very kind," he joked.

He slid his chair over to the desk in front of her and sat down, flipping through the textbook, lost in thought for a few moments, prompting Tru to clear her throat.

"Don't tell me that even the tutor is bored," she grinned.

"Oh no," Liam said, smiling back. "Never."

He cleared his throat then, and started his lecture on the code of knights.

"So," Liam said, closing his book. "Still awake?"

Tru nodded, looking up into his eyes. "I... I just barely managed to keep my eyes open."

"Glad to hear it."

Liam was very much trying to not notice how beautiful his young student was. After all, she was underage. And his student. And the niece of his employer. And it was all just a bad idea.

"Same time... Thursday?" Tru asked.

"Yes," Liam replied, regaining composure as he pushed his chair back and stood. "Remember to read over those chapters, and we'll discuss them then."

And with that, he left, rather abruptly, and just in the knick of time.

For both parties.
